My latest bill - $90 "Expanded basic" was $55, digital was $16 (actually a good price for all the channels you get), plus converter boxes.
I complained and got a promotional deal that gets it down to $70, but geezus... I'm tempted just to Netflix or download the shows I watch, and use Arfcom as cheaper entertainment |
With tax and employee discount... $25. I have a basic package plus HBO, Cinemax, and TiVo (real TiVo, not some no-name box).
The reception sucks. |
same |
$10 - bottom of the line basic cable (no box). I get around 25 channels. But I don't spend a lot of time watching TV.
ZERO - I get the full boat free along with internet and VOIP.
'course I do work for the cable company. |
I'm paying $0 because Comcast is too incompetent to actually show-up for the install. The first install date missed was over 18 months ago. The latest one was two weeks ago. They have a government-protected monopoly here so the service is horrible.
Of course I'm not fighting that hard to get it. My neighbor's Comcast service is mostly static, and his cable modem only works about half of the time. I'd just like to be able to watch college football on ESPN. Comcast's picture on ESPN is clear enough to tell what is happening.z |
I live in north Kansas City. My total bill with taxes is roughly $95 month for both cable (72 channels) and Road Runner cable internet. This minus the digital cable box, which I returned to shave $11 off my monthly bill.
We're at $105 with the digital cable box and internet... we need to cut back on something |
Just watch the games on ESPN360.com Not every game is on there, but they have some good ones. |
It really seems ludicrous when I stop and think, that I'm dropping almost $1,200 a year on cable tv and internet. However, I use them both heavily and don't drop a lot of $$$ by going out often like I did in my younger years. So I guess I'll chalk it up as in-home entertainment. |

Mine's $114.25 for digital cable w/ on demand + internet, which my wife and I split equally with the three girls downstairs, making for five equal payments of $22.85 per month.
Way too much. About $115.00 w/internet. Cox cable is the worst utility in the area value wise. We really need some compitition for this.
Get ready to pony up for the box again, because if you don't have one when everything goes digital, you won't be watching anything. |
I refuse to pay cable nazis. I get 6 channels with rabbit ears.
A friend of mine canceled his cable and they never came to turn it off.
that was three years ago. |
Happens more often than not. Depends on if they have access to the pole or wall box. If its a nice area, they will try to do a TAKE BACK and sell them, if they dont get the sell than they cut em. If its a shit hole neighborhood, they rarely bother with the Disco, not worth it. |
Comcast is putting the meat in my ass for internet access. $60/month.
I have DirecTV just because I will not pay those bastards another penny. |
Comcast Triple Play
VOIP Internet (speeds up to 30mbit down, 1.5mbit up) Cable (2 HDTV STBs, all premiums except Cinemax) $160/month |
I think we are at about 120 for AT&T cable.
My wife pays the bills, so I'm not sure. Do they still make Black Boxes? ETA - Chicago. |
I thought the deal was:
you PAY for TV and there are no commercials?? WTF happened?? So you guys PAY to watch TV with commercial in it?? I tossed my TV about 6 months ago. i've never paid for cable and don't intend to. |
Direct TV $69/mo and a free DVR with the contract.
Had a good deal on highspeed internet $14/mo, then I had to move to Ohio for work. Now $29/mo |
~$50 for basic cable, nothing fancy.
I'll upgrade to basic digital in the distant future when I get a nice big flat screen for my living room. |
~100 a month for Comcast
HD/DVR All Encore, Starz, and HBO channels etc. |
$183 -- Cox Cable.
-All the channels -HDTV -2 Convertor boxes -Cable internet -Digital Telephone |
$17.89. We ordered basic cable, but the contractor said he didn't feel like putting the filter on the line.
We moved 4 years ago and I decided we'd see how long we could go without, have yet to get cable. PS...we have 3 kids too |
direct tv $50 except during hockey season then it's like $75 a month
i have 500 channels including all the premiums, 3 DVR's two digital boxes, 10x2 Megabit internet with VOIP and pay 30 bucks a month after tax...
Did i mention i work for the cable company? |
$44 + $39 for internet. I am satisfied with what I am getting.
Netflix is a good deal. The only drawback is now I watch WAY more TV then I used to.
I just switched over to DirectTV from Cable and it's cheaper I think. But the big plus is the picture is OUTSTANDING and I get NFL sunday ticket. I would have stayed with cable except for two things....Direct was a tad cheaper with the special they're running and cable doesn't have NFL sunday ticket. (by the way, if you're thinking of switching let me know..I have a coupon code that will give us both a $50 visa card AND a free additional DVR or HD reciever.)

FTA Satellite box
Google it, buy one, don't look back and thank me later You're welcome. O, here is a link to the website dedicated to my brand of FTA box. I pay for interent and basic cable ($59) because internet alone is $60, i save a dollar so I get basic cable for the hell of it, though i have over 600+ channels (all PPV, Movie channels, Porn, etc... also) and Sirius Radio for free. Speed |
TAG for more info on this. |
Too fucking much.
$109 for internet and TV. Wife watches House every damn day so i can't get rid of it. Maybe i should get rid of both . |
$0, I don't have cable. I also don't have the internet at home.
about 4 bucks a month for everything (including the playboy channel), internet and dvr.
Well I hope you have your wallet open... |
Good luck with that come next year. Let us know how that works out for ya. |
About $140, Cable Digital,Internet, couple premiums.
Sucks I work for one calbe company and live in another providers territory. I have to pay full rates and that bothers me. |
$49/month for Expanded Cable and $30/month for Cable Internet
