Umbilical cord that is. 3.
I just let the doctor do it. It's like, they're getting paid, why should I do their job?
Zero, and at 60 I doubt that's going to change. Kind of a shame really, I've got great genes. All white, smart and stuff.

was going to use a Randall knife to do it, but the turn around was like 3 yrs...
![]() ![]() and the OBGYN wouldn't give me the placenta.... ![]() |

Only cord I'm interested in having cut is my vas def. I hate kids with a passion.

Once.
Felt like a thick rubber band. Greatest day of my life . No regerts. !!!!! |
Two kids, cut it once. I think there was some distress on the first one that they need to take care of first (knot in the cord as well as wrapped around her neck). She turned out just fine though, if not a little hard headed

Twice. One voted for Trump in November. The other isn't old enough yet, but will next time.
I paid a lot to have professionals do it twice. I didn't volunteer any other services there either like taking out the trash or getting the staff doughnuts.
5 kids and zero umbilical cord cuts.
If I could go back in time and do it all over again, I would have fought harder to stay out of the delivery room. |
Four, and I made the same stupid joke each time.
"Doc, do you think it's a good idea for me to have the sharp thing around the baby?" ![]() |
3. Wanted to use my Buck knife all 3 times but got shot down..........
Disgusting, scary not for me. What ever you got to do to maintain sanity I guess.
Once. Child birth is the craziest shit in the world, and I've been to the sandbox.
Didn't cut either of my own. Cut two I delivered at work though.
Two kids, never cut the cord, nor did I want to. Also, "greatest day of your life" people have got to be joking. Being a a birth is overall pretty nasty

So I distinctly remember doing my hospital times when in paramedic school.
First birthing time, I get there and get dressed up in the gown and everything just as the baby is delivered. Fuck me if I hadn't read past delivering the baby yet in the book - and nobody fucking told me to expect anything else to come out ... especially not something that looked like what a placenta looks like. ![]() ![]() Yeah, it was a bit of a shocker being in my early 20's and not having ever been around for births yet, let alone after-birth alien horror-movie stuff that had to come out next. |
My first is due in January, will not be cutting. She does not want me even in the delivery room, let alone anywhere near all the action.
