Just like friggin' high school (25 yrs. ago!)--three Mike's in every class.  Check my profile.  Most common name for boy children in the English speaking world.  Sucks for us.

I'm a Michael too.  Does it bug anyone else when you tell them your name is Michael and they start calling you Mike?  I've found myself being a smart ass when correcting them.  I guess I just get tired of it.

Whether I intoduce myself as Mike or Michael people usually end up calling me Mike.

The exception to this has been women to which I ended up in a serious relationship with, have all called me Michael. I know now just as when I was a kid, when you hear someone calling you Michael, your in big trouble.

History of the name, "Michael":

-the right hand of God.

-in Gods likeness.

-in the Bible there are thousands/Millions
of angels.

but there are only two "Arc Angels". Arc Angel
means: "Messenger from God"

#1) Michael

#2)  Gabriel.

....Gabriel told Mary she would be the mother to Jesus.

Michael is the Warrior angel. The commanding General of Gods army,..who fought a war to drive evil/Satan out of Gods domain.

...And there was a war in Heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought against his angels. And prevailed not. Revelations 12:7

Michael: The patron saint of Paratroopers. The patron saint of police officers.

Shield and Trident in hand.

how is that for Michael trivia?:D

I knew a Mike in high school that we would call "rej", short for reject. He was the only guy I knew of that almost failed ESL (english as a second language). This was even though english was the only language he knew! Last I heard he was running some music related tabloid.
