Definition of loaded:

Ammo in the magazine, if the firearm accecpts detachable mags then loaded mag is in the gun.

I have one right now, a pistol...but I'm fixin' to load me up a shotgun. I also keep a bunch of loaded AR mags around, but I don't have one in a rifle just laying around.

Several.

All of them! An unloaded firearm is a poorly designed club!

It's easier for me to count the unloaded ones. A couple ARs, a shotgun, several handguns. Guns are expensive clubs when they're not loaded.

Honestly, I think it's safer to have them always loaded.

Ahhh.

If I unload my pistol and my shotgun then I should have a few minutes to grab a few more and slap mags into 'em.

Zero.

I have a very curious six year old son.

I can have one within seconds of opening the gunsafe though.

+1 That way there is NO question as to whether they are loaded or not. If you see a gun, it IS loaded, so clear it properly.

Precisely. This way I NEVER teach myself bad muscle memory. I pick up a gun and I know it's loaded, I never get lazy because I think it isn't.

I came to this conclusion after realizing that a lot of the ND stories involve people thinking they unloaded a gun the night before, etc.

only things not that way are 22 rifles and a gun I don't have ammo for.

Glock 17 with PMC green 147 grain frangibles (I live in an APT with very crappy walls, I ear what people are doing at least 2 floors below me...) So dont wana over penetrate.

Loaded firearms in the house? That would be really stupid and dangerous. There are no targets in the house and a loaded gun outside a controlled range setting could really hurt somebody.

shotgun in safe and a .45 in safe loaded. keep a couple full magazines for the AR-15's

None. I used to keep a loaded stripper clip or two on my dresser and my empty rifle in the closet next to it.

All of my rifles, handguns, and shotguns, with the exception of the barrett M99 and the H&H Double Rifle are always loaded.

I treat every weapon as loaded , so that's the way I
store them .

At the moment though there is one that is useful only as
a club , since I'm out of .50 Beowulf ammo
