How many clicks out when shooting standard Iron sights?
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:21:56 PM EST
what are you asking?
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:23:27 PM EST
I pretty much always run mine 2 clicks out for fully collapsed... Wait, no, I always run mine 2 clicks out.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:23:34 PM EST
How many stock clicks away from fully collapsed you prefer when shooting iron sights.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:29:48 PM EST
3 clicks out, NTCH
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:30:30 PM EST
I think I run at the 3rd or 4th.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:31:34 PM EST
Do what?
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:33:17 PM EST
Fully collapsed, nose to the charging handle.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:33:22 PM EST
I run a Sully stock so I cannot vote.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:35:10 PM EST
How many lick's till i reach the candy center-mass?

I use a 4 position CAR stock since it fits my shoulder nicely (and it's lighter and costs less). I am one click out with nose to CH for irons or aimpoint. It's about 8 3/4" from receiver to butt. (I have a medium build)

Just use what's comfortable to you.

Thoes are pretty cool, 120 bones though? I thought they were cheaper than that.

There are 2 different kinds of carbine receiver extenstions. 6 position, and 4 position. So this variable must be accounted for or your poll data will be skewed.

As well as 5 pos. I just figured most people shot close to closed.

1 out NTCH

On a 6 position, I shoot two out.

fully collapsed and my nose doesn't reach charging handle
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 3:57:16 PM EST
1 or 0 clicks.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:12:15 PM EST
My stock doesn't click....unless you run over it with a truck.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:17:27 PM EST
My stock doesn't click either. My stock is fully extended and my nose is to the charging handle. I find the standard M4 stock to be a bit on the short side fully extended.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:19:32 PM EST
My CTR only has three clicks out - and I usually shoot with it fully extended. I put my nose to the charging handle.

Same here. I have an M4 upper on an A2 lower with an A2 stock. I've never been comfortable with a collapsable stock.

That being said, nose to the charging handle for me when using iron sights. My Dad taught me how to shoot small-bore early on in life, so I naturally get my eye as close to the aperture as I can. I've taught my kids the same.

Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:29:52 PM EST
whatever feels comfortable for you. I'm out 2, but pick what feels comfortable.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:31:43 PM EST
87 of course.

Really though? I usually go 5 or 6.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:35:11 PM EST
2 or 3 Nose on the handle
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:43:31 PM EST
Nose to charging handle. Stock is at 5 clicks in all positions (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone).
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 4:46:46 PM EST
how can I keep my nose on the charging handle when I'm blading like a mofo, adrenaline dumping and yelling "I AM USING MY IRON SIGHTS, YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY COLLAPSIBLE STOCK"

as well as 2 position...

2, NTCH, even with an optic sometimes out of habit

Depends if I am shooting at small targets long range I use a traditional Offhand shooting stance I run the stock all the way out. If I am shooting squared up to the target and at a fast paced IE deffensive stance I put the stock on the 2nd click.

IF you find the stock to long your'e shooting with a traditional offhand shooting line stance.

4 clicks out on a 6 position stock.

3 out of 4
4 out of 6
everything else has A1/C1's.
nose to CH
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:16:51 PM EST
I shoot it nose to charging handle in any position.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:20:54 PM EST
6 out, shoot from the hip, .05 moa, center mass, watch pocket to CH.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:21:22 PM EST
Whaddya mean, clicks out ?

This.

This is just about right for a nose to charging handle cheek weld.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:47:58 PM EST
Fully extended.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:49:36 PM EST
0,1, or 2 clicks at max, but always nose-to-charging-handle.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:50:01 PM EST
Fully extended, my nose is NOWHERE near the charging handle, i find it easier to get the front post centered, and i find myself more accurate.

2 out (unarmored) nose on the handle

none out in armor.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 5:59:20 PM EST
What kind of clicks are we talking about?

Link Posted: 11/3/2009 6:00:11 PM EST
A2 fixed and it is still a bit short––-nose over charging handle.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 6:02:55 PM EST
on a six position i use have it about half way out to where you can see the buffer get wider
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 6:04:08 PM EST
3 'clicks' out normally
2 'clicks' out if I am wearing body armor...

On a 5 position, I shoot 1 out. 2 out on a 6 position. NTCH in both cases.
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 6:23:52 PM EST
I roll an A2 stock so I voted nose away from handle.

This for me. Depends entirely on what I'm doing. Precision rifle in prone it's all the way out. Very close in when I'm doing a shoot and move carbine course.

Link Posted: 11/3/2009 6:29:52 PM EST
That depends on how I'm shooting. 2 clicks for up close and moving the rifle around. More for shooting from the bench. I'm a tall guy (6'4").
