I live east of Lake Ontario and we get hammered every year. If you know what its like to see 6" or more per hour snowfall rates you know what I deal with every winter.

ETA: I enjoy going outside during a really heavy lake effect snow, the city is extremely quiet. Peaceful.

We get the tail ends of lake effect snow here in WV when the winds are right.  It's usually about spent by the time it gets here though.

I dig the snow, but the freezing rain that's coming in the early a.m. is going to be a PITA.

Yep I used to live in Rochester NY.  I remember one time I cleared the ice and snow off my windshield, got in my car to drive, and the snow was piled so high I could't see over the hood.  We often would get 4 feet of snow in a night.
