First post.

As you can tell from my user name, I'm a stretcher jockey in Albany NY.  I found this place after a co-worker had me fire his Bushmaster.  I'm hooked and now I want my own "black rifle".  I'm surprised how many of my co-workers are into firearms.  It makes for interesting conversations around the station. how

I started out as an EMT-A back in '85. I became a 'P' then came a FF-PM career in'90. I was a plank-holder for the SWAT-Medic team for six years starting in '95. Funny thing is....after all these years and time invested doing cool-guy things, I look forward to a quiet night riding a ladder or engine instead of 'the box'.

KBR handles the firefighting here in Afghanistan.

Volunteer FF/FR here, since our protocols limit basics responding with the FD to the same level of care as EMT-B's I figured why keep up with the extra con-ed. It is changing now so I will probably be back in school.

Resident EMT/Lone Ranger for a small DoD agency where I pass out band-aids, and hold their hands
if they're feeling bad until the local ambo can take them to the hospital.

Former EMT-B here , let it lapse years ago, worked for AMR in Boston before making the biggest mistake of my life and choosing LPN school over EMT-P school.  Looks like I'll be going to EMT school again though as the volunteer f.d. I'm on has an EMT shortage, and I hate getting to the station knowing theres someone I could help and not being able to do it and the person is waiting while they put out a second call for an EMT.
