Is 513 DVD's to much, I need to get that hard-drive where I can put them on one source and sell them to buy more AR's.

+1 I only have 10 DVDs. I'm sure if I didn't spend money on other things or sat down in front of a TV more often that I'd have many many more, especially documentary sets. |

You'll need more than a hard drive to put that many on - figure about 3 TB ought to do you.
I'm pricing a 16.8 TB array for work - figure about $60,000 with metadata controllers, hardware spares, client licenses, and three years of support on hardware and software. |

I only have about 450 DVD's, but actually have a pretty good collection of VHS that will pretty much be going to waste shortly. Only about 1800 VHS.....

7, I own 7 DVDs, 5 of them are are good ones,
Quigly Down Under, Patriot, Zulu, Rush Hour, Blade, Starship Trooper. Master Commander, The Chronicals of Riddick, (not mine, but Win88 hasn't missed it yet) I hope to expand my "collection" soon.  |

Just shy of 300, and another 500 of VHS, I used to buy alot of VHS, now I only Buy DVD I will watch more than three times. I do tend to burn alot of DVD though (they are not counted in this thread, I assumed you meant purchased DVD).

163 distinct titles, that's counting a tv season of 4-10 disks as one DVD.
For storage I highly recommend the Boltz multimedia rack Boltz  I got Boltz component stands and a double CD rack, a 252 capacity multimedia rack and a 126 capacity multimedia rack. |
