About how long have you been working out without any breaks?

Because it seems like I work out real good for 1 or 2 years and then I end up taking 6 months off and starting back up again.

Anyone else have this problem?

Well... I've been running and biking for 8 years now.

I will never revert to a sedintary lifestyle again. Kill your TV.

20 years.
I have changed workouts many times, changed emphasis from lifting to running to other cardio to lifting, etc...but I haven't ever stopped working out for more than 2 weeks in 20 years.
