I come to AR15.com on a daily basis, but I am not a very prolific poster. I have been coming here since early 98 (I think). I had acouple of thoughts today:
1.How long has AR15.com been around?
2. Since the board changed and everyone had to re-register and now the registration date doesnt actually reflect how long a person has been here.
So how long have you been here?

I have been here only a few months.

Mid 1999.

The date I registered was 11/10/98 on the old site, I had been lurking since early-mid '98 because I found this site shortly after buying my first AR in Feb. or March of that year.
I wasn't ever on the AR15-L (is that right?) mailing list and when the old site went down I was one lost puppy!!! I finally heard about the backup site and was home again. I'd love to go back and see some of my first post to see what kind of an idiot I was back then.

Started coming here around Dec. 2000. I used to post on HK91.com before that.

Just over 2 years now.

If I'm not mistaken, I signed up for AR15-L (the email-based discussion list) in '96, before there were any web forums at AR15.com. Again, IIRC, the web forums came about in '97, but didn't get used much until the mailing list died for a week or so in '98, and a lot of folks moved over to the web board. I registered on the old software in '98, and became a Mod in '99 or 2000. I believe I am account #7 on this new software.

I was here on the old board too with the same name. I used to pose as "Chemlawn" guy to get folks fired up. Anyone remember that? It stemed from a guy on here that said he almost shot the chemlawn guy because he came up in his yard by mistake. I made some enemies over the Elian thing too!

I too was on the old mailing list, but it got so big that I wasn't ever able to get through it so I unsubscribed. I started lurking in the summer of 2001 and then registered again.

I'm going to say early 1999. I had a year in on the old board. I think when I joined anti,DonR and Kuiper were the GD mods.

I've been here since the new board debuted. I wanted to register with the old one and AK-47.net, but never got a password. Must be because i use firewalled computers here at work.
I orginally posted as Libertarian. I ran out of cool sounding Usernames trying to get on other boards but stupidly settled for the name of a political party for this one. but its ok there are only four of us anyway.[:)]

I followed the AR15-L for awhile, and then joined the old board. Didn't post much until about the last year of the old board. Joined this board as a beta and posted the first post. I believe that means I should automatically win a rifle at the BRC. [:D]

I was on the old AR15 mailing list. Still remember getting about 200 e-mails a day. I was also on the old board. I originally registered as Pro Gun Guy. I have been around a while, just don't post as much as some folks.

I was on the listserv in 1998, and on the website as "SigMan"... I think someone else has that name now. I still kinda miss the "green" board as well. This place is just like home to me.

I started lurking sometime in the winter of '97-'98, I think it was.
I finally registered on the old board in Dec. 2000 after getting a computer at home. I had something like half a dozen posts when the old board crashed for the final time. I found the beta board a couple of weeks later in Jan. '01.

As you can see by my post count I am pretty much a lurker. I was on AR15L before the web site discussion board. I guess that would make it the mid to late 90’s.
Stay safe!

Ed, I do remember McUzi's post recommending you for moderator status. He was quite complimentary of you as I recall.
