I ordered a 2015 Fusion on 1/15 and was given a 10-12 week ETA for delivery. Does it really take that long domestically?

My 2014 took 8 weeks. It's a weirdo tho, it's a manual.

It probably varies by what you ordered on it.  I would bet the build in groups that have common features, so there is less changeover or easier inventory/parts staging.

Depends on when you put in the order and when the next production cycle picks it up...

My Jeep took about 2 months.

They had a fire in the paint section...so it showed up at the dealer and Jeep took it back.

Had a new one (new VIN, new production date, everything...) in 14 days. Which seems to be about the "no shit" here's how long it takes from starting production to getting it to a lot time frame apparently. (Mine is a Rubicon, in Dozer, manual, soft top...no other options...so wasn't like it was one that was just sitting around at the factory  Very odd order for Jeep)

It can also depend on the dealer, I ordered from one dealer and after 10 weeks they couldn't even give me a VIN.  I told them to cancel it I went to a different dealer and it was delivered in 4 weeks.  The funny part is the first dealer kept the order open and that car was delivered a month after I picked up my Mustang from the second dealer, 18 weeks after the order was placed.

8-12 weeks is about right for Ford. Why did you need to special order a Fusion? Not exactly a model that is lacking in stock.

They gotta ship it in from Mexico or Canada, so it takes awhile.

I'm a Ford dealership salesman so I'm not just talking out of my ass on this.

Short answer is it depends.

Depending on model, time of year ordered, and dealership standing within Ford as well as standing with Ford on a particular model (like the Mustang).

Average is 8-12 weeks.

My last ford took 8 weeks, dodge took 6.

My ford dealer is a dickhead and refuses to order them for me anymore or even price them for me so im not sure on current leadtimes. He only sells what he has on the lot but even if it is on the lot sometimes he wont give a price on it or return phone calls.

My brother is his service manager. He says he is just like that sometimes.

The damnest thing i ever saw.

Why the hell would you want a wrong wheel drive crossover?

And to answer your question, you can only order the "packages" you want. No custom builds in the old sense of the word.

2015 Explorer Platinum will be out this summer. It will have the 3.5 ecoboost. The 2.0 ecoboost in the sport sucks. Plus it is only available in FWD.

Not sure why it was so fast. I didn't think the dealer was telling the truth when they said it was in.

Ordered on May 20th.

Arrived Nov. 5th.

Of course we were all told "fall delivery" of the new Mustang, and they were right.
