Well, just about a week ago I came home from school. Trinidad, CO to northern NJ - 1900 miles - 30 hours straight/nonstop. Who here can do that or better?[whacko] Or am I just nuts??

Glad you made it alive, if not too awake.
Went from Newton, IA to Seattle, WA in 2.5 days with side trips to Mt. Rushmore and Sturgis! Had to stop in Sturgis...
My wife and I had just gotten married and had to make it to the 20-yr. high school reunion. Some HoneyMoon!

Made it from Amityville, NY to St Louis, MO without a nap. That's my best. I don't remember exactly how long it was, but I think about 26 hours.

You have a couple of extra gas tanks??

I drove alone from Abilene, TX to Springfield, MO and back in one day. Total of 20 hours with only a couple of stops to take on gas and to replace my gun in the trunk before I got to the state line of MO.

Syracuse, NY to Los Angeles, about 2800 mi., 3.5 days, lots of snow the first day.

Ive went 18 hrs but I would not try it again. the last hour or so I saw lots of shit that wasnt there.

340 yrds - BUT 95 degrees, low humidity, 100 compression ball, 3k feet altitude, and my trustee 7 degree Taylor Made driver.

As far as sleep deprivation - 72 hours - finals winter term Junior year - it sucked.

Northeast of Detroit down to West Tennessee....................about 900 miles give or take a median or two.

Far enough for me to get really spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaced out.

San diego to St. Louis stopping only for gas and grub. Don't remember much of the trip though except I was damn tired when I got there.

My brother made the trip from here in SC to San Diego Naval Base in just over 2 days, in a 2-door chevette.

I used pick up all the (L hydrogen, sometimes LOx)runs my company could get from Chicago area to NASA. Twenty-seven hours if I remember correctly. Always seemed to make it in the same amount of time no matter how fast, or slow I drove. Two stops for meals, & about 7~8 coffee stops (Delivered, & dropped off the coffee -- this was an old Mack "day cab sidewinder"). I always saved 150 bucks "motel money", because I ALWAYS drove straight through.

This was a long time ago, don't believe I could do that three times a week these days. Even if I could (physically, & legally -w a NASA escort), I wouldn't be stupid enough to do it today.

I drove from Key West FL to Springfield MO (1738 miles) non stop in a Ford "monster truck" (I could look [i]down[/i] into semi's) with a manual transmission, poor fuel economy (which required frequent fuel stops) a nagging wife and a cast on my leg from the knee down. I arrived within twenty minutes of when I said I would be there after 36 and a half hours. One hour after arriving I got to experience my first heart attack. That sort of sucked.

Lawton/Ft Sill OK to somewhere about an hour into western PA on I70 - 20 hours, 1200 or so miles, and only stopping for fuel and piss breaks (I brought a bunch of sammiches and Mt Dew with me.)

Also, 2 days of driving during Desert Storm, only getting sleep behind the wheel a few seconds at a time. I was so tired near the end that I must have pumped twice as much JP4 into my humvee as the tank would hold - without removing the filler cap!

I think I have you all beat... 2800+ miles in 28 hours non-stop. SanDiego to Detroit.

I just got out of the Navy and was moving back to Michigan. FTN, I just wanted to get home! Got me a new Mazda RX-7 and headed East. Once I got to the Eastern border of Kalifornia, was doing about 120mph through the deserts, through Nevada, Arizona, Texas plains.. just kept the speed above 100mph and never looked back.

Damn stupid, and Damn Lucky.. no tickets. Radar saved me every time.

I hit a 325yd and a 330yd drive last week. That was with my old steel head/steel shaft driver. I just picked up a new Callaway Hawkeye VFT driver today. I hit a bucket of balls at the range with it and fell in love. Can't wait to see what it can do on the course tomorrow........[beer]

How about this one. Key west to Oakland, California in 3 days. Plus I did it in a old Chevy Cavalier with the wife and my then 18 month old son. Something like 3500 miles.

I will never understand the military, they won't pay to ship two cars to Hawaii, but they will give you time off, and $2500 to drive to Oakland and ship it yourself.[rolleyes]

JP4 is what we ran in them - jet fuel is really nothing but kerosene, after all, and kerosene is basically a clean grade of diesel fuel. Nowadays the army runs JP8 in every tactical vehicle.

My little brother did Colorado springs to south jersey in 26 hours.
I'm good for a trip to camp perry and back. That's about 1200 miles from where I live.
I used to drive for a living, the novelty wears off fast if you do 18+ hours a day for a living.
