Internet has been so damn slow on all of my PCs in the house.

How is that possible?

I don't torrent or download significant files. Am I being throttled for some reason by Comcast? Normally I get 18-20mbps download.

edit to add to OP.

Edit: woot, it's been fixed. I didnt contact comcast yet.

We could trade upload speeds, it would even out with your download.

I've never seen a ping that high.

could be a million things.

Something at your end -

Shitty OS setup
bad hardware
bad router
bad network cabling
someone hammering the connection with a torrent or download

something at your ISP's end -

border router dropping packets
overloaded node in your neighborhood
shitty backbone connection being overloaded
shitty last mile connection to your premise

If that was my speed i would be on the phone telling them to fix and to adjust my bill for the crappy internet speed you are having.

Faster than 87%

There is a distinct possibility that there is a problem with your physical connection. I had dodgy cable internet when I moved into my house in 2005. I had the cable guy out to run a new wire from the pole and I re-did the coax wiring in my house with new cable and the best and fewest amount of splitters possible between the pole and my cable modem. My connection has been rock solid ever since and I almost always get exactly the advertised speeds or greater.

I would start by connecting to your modem with your web browser and seeing if it gets a good signal. http://192.168.100.1/ is common for many modems. Just put that in your browser and see if a status page pops up for your modem. If not, Google the correct address based on your ISP and cable modem model and you might find some hints. If you don't know how to do that, call Comcast and have them look on their end. If that's your problem, then what I mentioned above might be the fix.

It could also be something in your neighborhood but I'd imagine that Comcast would have handled it by now because of all the other squeeky wheels on your block.

I believe I'm paying for 50mbps down.

Reboot the modem and router and shut off all devices but one. If that don't do it it's on comcast's end. Like the guy above said, it could be physical, as well.

Call your Cable company. This has happened to me 3 times and each time they have had to either fix something in the wiring, the box outside, or like this last time it was with the area network. What you have isn't normal.

885, damn space station latency right there.

Resetted cable modem, router (nighthawk ac1900), and still have issues.

Upload speed is fast but download sucks.

Looks like I'll call comcast tomorrow.

Fiber to the house and Shielded CAT 7 in the house. Gigabit fiber is nice, I was one of the first to call and get it once it was offered in my area.
