In your opinion is this one more or less heated, more or less negative?

I don't think it is as bad as Bush/Kerry or even the McCain/Bush primary of 2000.

There is the racial/muslim element that has never been seen before, but outside of that I really don't think this election has been that bad by comparison.

What are your thoughts?

This one is the most important one, unlike the last most important one

This time around people are much more belligerent when they find out I don't like their guy.

I dunno.. 92 was bad, as was 88. My dad tells me that 72 was pretty bad, too.

The Obama camp is unusually sleazy… kinda Nixon like but more so.

But compared to the past by US historical standards we don’t have very nasty campaigns today.

When Dick Cheney shoots someone call me… er ah shoots em dead I should say.

It's the same as any other.  Was Wrestlemania 7 and worse than Wrestlemania 8?  They both have the same degree of realism.

That I could believe.

Prior to the last debate Carter lead Reagan by a few points, which was a week before the election.

The market has screwed McCain's lead, when in fact it's the dems who screwed us.

How does it compare...

The two biggest parties are the Democrats and Republicans. One of those two will win.

Pretty similar to recent history imo.

This is the first one I can remember where the MSM didn't even try to pretend to be objective.  They're all so blatantly prObama, it makes me wonder what ever happened to journalistic integrity (I guess it has gone the way of personal responsibility).

It's not too bad when compared to, say, the 68 election when Wallace was shot, riots at the Dem convention, hell-riots everywhere, RFK and MLK dead, etc.
