How do you tell the date of a Chinese SKS? Cut it in half and count the rings. (just kidding, put the hacksaw down...) Oh, hell, I don't know. But you just got a btt - maybe someone else will know.

Used to have a ChiCom 'Type 56' Carbine, VN 'bringback' ser 113017XX, with capture papers (Temp Export permit SNV, and War Trophy Rego papers) some shrapnel damage to the blade, but overall in good shape. I reckon it was made in the early 60s, so maybe you could go from that mark?
