FOIA will get you basic info.

Usually you'll need a service number or SSN depending on vintage.

maybe ask them what their basic training company was.  Post it here.  I'm sure somebody can verify the truthfulness of whether or not said unit exists.

EX.  I was in A 2/46 at Ft. Knox for basic.  Anyone else on the hill could tell you whether or not I'm lying.

Just ask them; NOBODY in this day and age would lie about military service.

Probably an ex-SEAL whos now a MARSOC sniper because he was too good and turned down the Army SF. Usually its something along those lines
