You might also look at the Glock 30.  It's only about 0.12 inches (I think) wider then the Glock 36, yet it holds 10+1 rounds.  Also take a look at the Glock 23; if I had to only have one pistol for the rest of my life a Glock 23 would be it.

I like my Glock 21 but it is BIG and I want to get something smaller.  I didn't like the feel of the G30 but I do like the G36 and the G23.

I have a 36 and have no complaints. More accurate than my S&W 686. Magazine capacity doesn't concern me. More would be better, but if I can't get the job done with 7 rounds, then I need to practice more.

Have shot both G27 (.40S&W) and G30 (.45ACP).  G30 was much more controllable and easy to shoot.  Ken

Have you thought of the G27 or 33?  With the pinky extension

I didn't like the G27 because the grip was too short.  Maybe with the grip extension I would like it better.  Who makes the grip extension?

Pearce makes it.  It basically gives you an extra finger groove for your little finger.  I put it on my G30 mags and it definitely improves the feel.  You can find them in either the Dillon catalog or the Brownells catalog.

If you are going to get one in that size, I would defiently go with the Glock 27/33. and make sure that you get the pierce grips, I have one for my 26 and I love it. The 23 is probably the better buy if you have large hands and are worried about the grip though. Look at the slim line 45 as well, you might like that one. I would stay away from the Taurus, I had the PT-140 and I could not stand the DAO, I took it back within a week and took the bite. The Glock, IMO, are w/o a doubt the best by for your money. You can't go wrong with them.
