So, there seems to be a lot of sentiment that GW has no chance in '04.

Well, lets just assume there are no major scandals...what would it take to win?

I think the single biggest thing he could do is replace Chenney.  They need someone to succeed in '08 should they win.  Well who is there?  I give you Condoleezza Rice.

Imagine her as the Veep.  Young, smart woman minority.  Imagine the Dems trying to play a race card or whatever.  That 93% of the Black vote is no longer secure. The fact that she is a woman would capture many of the moderate female vote.

And CR vs. Hillary.  Please, Hillary would get creamed by CR.

Anyhow, if Bush is gonna win, what do you think it will take?

The big complaint against GWB in the 2000 vote was that he lacked the 'gravitas' to be Prez.

I think he's convinced a lot of people that he is of Presidential calibre, since his election.

After the 2000 census, states that GWB carried in 2000, will receive an additional 10 electoral votes, while those carried by AlGore lost 10 electoral votes. That should provide a little more of a comfort zone for GWB.

Historically, there was no reason that AlGore should have lost the 2000 election - the nation was not at war and the economy was humming.

So if the same historial pattern resumes, GWB should have no problem being reelected, if we're not at war or in a recession. Or unless he does some fool thing.

Such as renew the AW ban!  I'll still vote, but a lotta folks I know will just go fishing!

GWB could adopt an orphaned black child and I doubt that he'd break 10% of the black vote! It could have an impact on the single-parent women, however.

Married white women (the so-called 'soccer moms') voted by a comfortable margin for GWB!

Can you say REAGAN MAJORITY?

All President Bush has to do to succeed is dance with the people that brought him to the dance: The Reagan Majority.

Getting rid of Vice-President Cheney would be a disaster for all but Hillary and the end of the Bush presidency, IMHO.

A flaming liberal like Rice on the GOP ticket spells D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R.

Stop listening to the propaganda the Television Networks bombard USA with everyday.

Condoleeza Rice will someday be President.

The Dems are going to pull what the R's did in '96.
They are going to put up someone like Daschle or Gephardt who thinks it's their turn, that they deserve it -not because they can win it, but because they think they've paid their dues.

With all due respect to his military achievements, Colin Powel is a liberal who supports affirmative action.  The GOP should'nt sell out their core beliefs just for electability.

Colin Powell is also anti-gun rights. I don't mind him visiting the White House, but I don't want him living there.

Jarhead out.

Regarding Colin Powell -

Notwithstanding his accomplishments in the area of military service to our country, when the man on the right side of everything he claims to believe in, George W. Bush, asked him to run as his Vice-President, Powell declined.  That is not class, that is cynicism at its worse!

Considering the close outcome of the 2000 Election, I do not think that he should ever be rewarded with the presidential nomination of the GOP, since when the chips were down, he ran for the tall grass!

I'm content that he use his enormous stature and position, ironically granted to him by Presidents Reagan and Bush, in some appointed post, where his suck-ass (can't believe I said that) moderate to liberal views are irrelevant!

It's Cheney for me for 2004! I don't care if he's on life support! The American people love and respect honor and loyalty above all else, and GWB would be exhibiting BOTH if he asked Mr. Cheney to remain on the ticket.

Just think what an impassioned speech that Mr. Cheney gave at the last convention ('The wheel has turned, it is time. It is time for them to go!'). Imagine what his NEXT speech might sound like if, after being nominated, he graciously declines the offer, stating that the serious issues facing the nation outweigh any desire by him to cause his President, our President, to lose even a single vote out of concern or debate over the state of his health.

I like it, I like it a lot! Just the sort of thing that would win over an aging generation of baby boomers and soccer moms! And remember, the GOP has the last convention in 2004!

This is a "Twilight Zone" episode, right? This is Planet Clinton where "Rice is hardcore conservative"?

This is what seasoned pros of internet forums must mean when they say winning a heated discussion on the internet is tantamount to winning a heat in the Special Olympics: This only proves you were the fastest retard that ran.

This retard learned his lesson for today...

JOHN ASHCROFT FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!!

Hey, I like Cheney but when it comes down to it, his health is going to be an issue.  He may not make it through a second term as VP.  In steps Ashcroft.  What a dreamy thought!!!

The Majority of Black Voters will not Vote for Condoleezza Rice because she is not a Socialist and they are.

Condoleezza Rice is a Conservative, the Majority of Black Voters are Socialists.

They won't Vote for Condoleezza Rice because they know she will not give them the Entitlements and Preferential Treatment and Race Quotas that the Socialist-Democrats give them.

They also knew this about Alan Keyes so they never rallied around him either.

Alan Keyes was not a Socialist Big Daddy to them and neither is Condoleezza Rice.

They are Addicted to living life on the Socialist-Democrat Plantation and being Slaves of the New World Order.

They are Brain Washed Zombies.

And Condoleezza Rice isn't.

Why get rid of Cheney?  He is the most pro-gun guy in D.C.  If we have a "savior"...he would qualify.  I'll vote for him if he's hooked to a damn O2 tank.

Goad, Rice has been a conservative Republican all her life. She's a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institute, a conservative think tank. You may have heard of other Hoover fellows, like Thomas Sowell, George Schultz, Ed Meese, Milton Friedman, and I believe Ronald Reagan is an honorary member. She also served under both Reagan's and Bush Sr.'s administrations.

I don't know all of her political views. She may not be "hardcore" but she sure ain't no "flaming liberal."

Hardcore means hardcore.
I am not a hardcore conservative.
I saw Rice say she "reluctantly accepted pro-life" and she was frowning.
She is not hardcore conservative.
Rice is Nationalistic. So am I. Nationalism is a necessary component of conservatism but is not sufficient, IMHO.

Vice-President Cheney does represent the core of the GOP, IMHO.

Further into the racing retard abyss:

Nixon and President GW Bush's father forgot who took them to the "dance", abandoned the GOP core, and both lost their presidency when the GOP core abandoned them, IMHO.

Reagan and "that Democrat that was impeached" never abandoned their core constituency and their core constituency never abandoned them, IMHO.

All President Bush must do to succeed is dance with the people that brought him to the dance.

Don't count on President Bush to fight against the AW ban. He is for the ban. He is against us owning new manufacture above 10 round capacity magazines.

Do count on President Bush reversing the anti-gun hysteria.

Do count on President Bush not taking your guns, magazines, ammunition, and reloading tools and components away.

IMHO, this is "dancing with SOME of the people that brought him to the dance."

I'm waiting to see whether the Greens will grab more of the left-wing (Democratic) vote or fade away the way the Reform Party has.

BTW, Ralph Nader will be 70-some years old by 2004.

Consider this:

The Senate is in Democrat hands now and most likely will be after the 2002 elections.

Unless the economy turns around pretty soon, it is likely the Republicans will lose their razor thin majority in the House.

Americans love divided government.

Therefore, Bush wins in 2004.  Take it to the bank.

get rid of cheney? your NUCKING FUTS
cheney is a major reason bush won

has ANY U.S. Pres ever dumped there VP during an election year in an effort to insure his re-election ? NOPE, doesnt happen, wont happen
i would look at that as UN-trustworthy and dis-respectful, and im sure most of the country would also, that would be election losing move.

Bush Sr. had a hell of a better reason to dump dan quayle, but didnt

cheney leaving would be a personal decision based on health, and would still possibly hurt bush.
if bush took colin powell, the neo-black panters or other radical black group would Assassinate bush, just to get a first black pres

ive never heard of this rice person, but i dont think america would be too willing to accept a female in office just yet

the real reason bush Sr lost -- 1) bad economy, 2)perot and then...................3) NRA problems

How can colin powell be anti-gun rights, when he used to be a friggin general in the us army. He used to shoot the friggin things more than half of us today. somebody's bass ackwards somewhere. probably powell himself, he probably used blanks in the civil war instead of live ammo. yes that means i'm calling him ancient.

Such things as dreams are made of.

I have posted articles and quotes from Powell regarding his anti-gun stance many times.

This is attitude of blind party loyalty is what is destroying this country today. I swear if Schumer and Feinstein switched to the GOP people here would vote for them.
