Is this just the beginning of the investigation. Could charges be upgraded before trial. Why have we not heard the other side yet.

Lets go loot and burn Houston.
(Wait; is there anything to loot or burn in Houston?) |

I've had road rage and felt like shooting someone, but to actually go through with it is a special kind of bonkers
Shows that I'm not as crazy as some dip shits out there |

Reserve Harris County Deputy Constable..."Houston Cop" title misleading...part timer.
ETA: F'tarded part timer.... Should be attempted murder charge. |
|
|
Even if they upgrade it, won't be attempted murder, unless they find out he was stalking her. He probably followed Johnny Reno's advice, so the highest charge would be attempted voluntary manslaughter - I don't even know if that's a thing, so maybe aggravated assault would be the highest.

I would be more interested in his passenger, the one who leaned back so he could have this accidental discharge.
Seems like it is not their first rodeo. |

"Horny Woman Attacks Cop" View Quote Now that's just damn funny there. One could get the impression that if this story is true, this reserve deputy might be one of those guys that OC proponents fear...you know...walking around in the local mall with 2 chrome plated Colt .45's in a crossdraw holster setup...10" barreled AR-15 on a single point sling...folding stock 12ga riot shotgun...one K-bar knife/scabbard on each ankle...and bandoliers with plenty of ammo for all weapons present. I can hear him now....Hey!...you honking at me?...are you honking at me? |

My comment was more along the lines of a Paul Blart mall cop scenario...especially with a nice loud horn attached to the Segway. |

lol, in before the usual dogpile crowd. View Quote Yeah, it will probably start getting hard to breath here shortly. Wonder if there would have been a total mag dump and a reload for flipping ole boy off after the initial violation occurred? Everybody involved including all of the witnesses were quite, "Caucasian," from birth I hope? |

"Attempt" is actually contained in the subsections of "Murder" under 19.02...isn't it? Nope Sec. 19.02. MURDER. (a) In this section: (1) "Adequate cause" means cause that would commonly produce a degree of anger, rage, resentment, or terror in a person of ordinary temper, sufficient to render the mind incapable of cool reflection. (2) "Sudden passion" means passion directly caused by and arising out of provocation by the individual killed or another acting with the person killed which passion arises at the time of the offense and is not solely the result of former provocation. (b) A person commits an offense if he: (1) intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual; (2) intends to cause serious bodily injury and commits an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual; or (3) commits or attempts to commit a felony, other than manslaughter, and in the course of and in furtherance of the commission or attempt, or in immediate flight from the commission or attempt, he commits or attempts to commit an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual. (c) Except as provided by Subsection (d), an offense under this section is a felony of the first degree. (d) At the punishment stage of a trial, the defendant may raise the issue as to whether he caused the death under the immediate influence of sudden passion arising from an adequate cause. If the defendant proves the issue in the affirmative by a preponderance of the evidence, the offense is a felony of the second degree. |

RESERVE Deputy.
NOT a Police Officer. He's a volunteer. Someone that donates money and waves to kids at parades while wearing a Police uniform. Most of the time they are want-to-be cops that couldn't make it for some reason, and this story sums that up nicely. |

Totally unrelated but is that a tranny in the first picture?

So what you're saying, is he was appropriately charged? *GASP* No thin blue line? No blue wall of silence? No sweeping under the rug? Guy commits a criminal act, and is charged with a crime? By other cops? What is the world coming to? But then again, by some of the reactions here, they're just like those rioting in Ferguson, only of a different race. THEIR version of the truth, and THEIR version of justice is all that matters, who gives a fuck about what the law says. If this guy did something wrong, and it appears that he did, it sounds like he's being charged appropriately under TX law, and I hope that he is punished if found guilty. But the cop hate has returned, and unless he's lynched in the street this very minute, and his body drug down Main Street behind an MRAP, some people won't be happy. |

I am glad all of you comedians in here think this is funny.
Like I said before, this was no AD, and not the first time these TWO assholes have done this: According to police, a woman in Caplan’s passenger seat leaned back when he shot at the female driver. The couple then fled the scene. View Quote Lean back babe, imma shoot this stupid cunt. Sure, let me roll the window down. So where is the passenger? |
