Last time I watched No Country For Old Men and Man on Fire and Zero Dark Thirty.

What's worth making the effort to see on a nice big screen?

Doesn't have to be action--I'm kinda thinking (for example) O Brother Where Art Thou?, but I'm all ears.

Post your pics.

ETA:  Saw Blackhawk Down (again) on this particular TV--and that was a very good call.

Does that big TV have surround sound? If so Heat with DeNiro and Pachino is great with surround sound. Most any Marvel movie would be good. Can always watch Star Wars 4-7 just make sure to skip the first three.

For the great visual contrast watch The Fifth Element. My plasma died last year and I cannot find a replacement.

Didn't think about that one. That would look great on plasma. And those plasma TV's are getting hard to find.

Yes, there is a good sound system.

I was thinking about Star Wars, but the last one I watched kind sucked--it had retarded Jamaican/Rastafarian CGI characters, and I sort of lost all interest.

Which Star Wars are worth checking out?

Which Star Wars are worth checking out?

The original trilogy A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi as well as the new one The Force Awakens. The one you watched was one of the bad ones to skip. Probably The Phantom Menace. Skip 1-3 and watch 4-7.

John Wick has a lot of black in it, plus the lighting in a lot of the shots would display well.

I house sat a couple of days last year.  I didn't know how to operate their TV.

Who needs someone else to "house sit"?

Just have an alarm installed and be done with it.

Were plasma TVs ever produced with greater than a 65" screen?

he's probably just using plasma as a generic term for flat screens.

All I know is it's an awesome TV, in my memory it is nine feet wide (not really though), and mine sucks in comparison (lol).

I watched Saving Private Ryan one weekend, and while it wasn't as good as in the theater, the Omaha Beach landing scene was gripping.

Plasma you say?

Pause a porn scene on a schlong closeup and turn up the contrast and brightness for days.

When they come home the image will be burned in.
