It is a great place to start. Make your first batch from the kit after you read the directions and understand them. Cleanliness is the MOST important part of brewing.
After you brew your first batch you will want to find a brew store and use dried malt extract instead of booster. Buy one of the brewing books and brew some more beer. There have been several brewing threads lately so you can search for them and find some more info. |

That is a great way to start.
It took me 3 months to get to this... 
and a year or so after that into 10 gallon batches! Oh and its so much fun! |

Any place is a great place to start. Use it, enjoy. As said above... cleanliness is critical.
