I've got a 6.5 hp briggs and straton pressure washer which I bought from home (china made) depot.  The pump is a TOTAL PIECE OF S***!!  The briggs and straton engine works excellent and always has.  What would it take to make a generator out of it?  Does anyone have any plans?  Is 6.5 hp strong enough?  How many watts could I produced with it? Thanks

Thanks for the link, I found that one.  I see Yamaha makes a generator which puts out 3000 watts with a 5.5 hp motor.  So, I would need a pulley system an electric motor?  Is that what their called?  It's not really a motor, I want it to produce electricity AC not DC.  So what do you call the part of a generator that is making the electric power?  I know I'm going to feel stupid when someone answers this.  I don't think it's called an alternator because it making AC current not DC.

harbor freight sells generator heads also.

bolting a B&S to one would be a no brainer. but the electronics connections involved would be a mystery to me.
