The Feds will certainly classify that as a Destructive Device...

The question has always been, does Full Auto Trump DD like it does for SBR and AOW...
or... Would DD trump full auto requirements (not likely) or... Do neither Full Auto or DD trump each other (most likely) So, if you had that upper and paid a $200 tax and redistered it as a DD and you mounted it on a M-16 lower, then I think it would be legal! Doing it without paying the DD tax is risky! |

from his youtube page:
I have designed and patents pending on this.. Its a beltfed 12 gauge upper receiver for a ar-15 or m16 lower receiver. It uses your lower receiver, so if you have a ar15 its a semi auto shotgun, however if you have a registered m16 lower or a drop in auto sear it becomes a full auto 12 gauge machine gun. This is a prototype model and all the bugs arent worked out quite yet. Most of the problems that I have encountered revolve around the shotgun sheels not being consistent enough to eject sometimes. However I will have it a Knob Creek machine gun shoot in april for everyone to see it work in person. If you have questions or would like more info on how to get one please E-mail me at [email protected] thanks |

Some US company made a few belt fed water cooled shotguns for Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war to stop Iranian wave attacks.

Likely the upper will itself be declared a DD and possibly an MG, just as was done with the 8mm MG34-derived uppers.

BAFTE is gonna be knockin on his door.
Hope he has a FFL for manufacturer. |

Quoted: Something like that would be devastating at close range. Something like that would be a great riot control tool, loaded with bean-bags, batons, or taser shells... The practicality of crew-served weapons is in keeping the enemy BACK, not letting them get to close range (where the MG crew becomes a target for multiple riflemen).... |

Yep, seen it at Knob Creek in the spring. I was talking with the kid at the table and the prototype 3 will be out soon.

I've always wondered why no one makes a shotgun on an ar platform, but seems like everyone is jumping on the band wagon a little late, like s&w and ruger.

Op, use the "flash" button instead of the media button and it will work better

I wish I could remember more info about the beltfed shotguns built for Iraq. That was a long time ago. It might have been this guy.
The belt-fed shotgun is not a new idea. I developed one to fit either a Browning A-5 or Remington 1100 back in 1981. When I could generate no interest in it other than the British Government I went public with the information and sold plans on how to convert your own shotgun to belt-feed using common cloth bandoleers you can buy at Wal-Mart. I sold these plans for 17 years in The shotgun News until the market just fizzled out. It was pretty slick and added only 1/2 pound of weight to the regular shotgun. I statrted to develop a bull-pup stock configuration but just never got around to it. Ryan Kephart |

Looked to ME like it was firing from the open bolt. If that is the case then it'll be declared an MG. |

Looked to ME like it was firing from the open bolt. If that is the case then it'll be declared an MG. I do believe that was a closed bolt. When he fixes the jams, you can see the bolt close and load a shell, subsequently hoisting the entire belt. He then fires it. - BG |
