Over the weekend wife asked me for a Louis Futon hand bag and bucket bag. I said sure honey...no problem. I had no idea the price for just one of these bags would buy me an Armalite for christs sake!

Allston Shoulder Bag, $975.00

AND THAT'S ONE OF THE CHEAPER ONES!!!!

Just buy a knock-off!
Link Posted: 8/30/2004 5:30:58 AM EST
I'd help you out, but I'm flat out of cash. And change. And I only got about five bucks in my account. And I need that to keep the account.

But, remember, never promise anything until you know how much it costs.

Well, when she beats your ass for trying slip a fake one on her make sure you post pics here.

"Beat his ass, then post pics!"

tell her she's going to be paying for it every night when you two get in bed... see how quick she wants the bag then!

Not to hijack, well, yeah this is a slight hijack: The"suckering" can go both ways. My brother called last month and said that the wife had approved him buying a machine-gun. WHICH she has no friggin' idea how much it costs--she just thinks it'll be another damn gun in the safe. BWAHAHAHA!
Link Posted: 8/30/2004 5:37:05 AM EST
If you suck it up and buy it It will pay off in the end she will never be able to tell you not to spend money on a gun.

I kind of agree. I wanted to use this situation to my advantage to get an AR - 10B!

I guess I'm fortunate. . . I showed my wife a SA Colt M4 type carbine that soon will be for sale and said, I think we should get another one.

At impact guns they are already advertising the Colts with 6920 M4 uppers stamped "Law Enforcement Only" as limited editions. They call them "Ban Free" carbines.

1. Does she carry more money than the purse is worth?

2. An expensive purse becomes a security risk - people get killed for these things

Those are nice bags.

Yes, people do get killed for flashy jewelry and expensive accessories.

exactly, tell her you would worry about her too much if you got her one.
Link Posted: 8/30/2004 5:55:08 AM EST
I'm lucky. My wife doesn't give a rat's butt about stuff like that.
Link Posted: 8/30/2004 5:55:49 AM EST
Always use the answer of "we'll see", or "let me get back to you on that"
Link Posted: 8/30/2004 5:55:50 AM EST
No I already said I'd do it...not going back on my word...but am going to use this as leverage...

I'm lucky. My wife doesn't care about that crap, but if she did I get a 30% discount on all that high end merchandise.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

Buy her the bag she knows you can afford it. If you don't have the money sell your quality guns and buy a Hesse. The message is buy quality every time you open your wallet. If you buy quality every time you use your purchase you will be glad you made the buy . I quality purse for a woman has meaning for her as a quality gun does for you.

Um, unless I'm mistaken, a "Louis FUTON" bag would be a cheap Chinese knock-off of a Louis vuitton piece. So maybe you're in luck?

Only an idiot would buy a $1000 bag.

It's all marketing.

Buy her a no-name brand one for $40.

Oviously you're not married - no woman thinks rational like that.

No, I am married - to a fairly high maintanence lady.

But, I still try and inject some logic anyway. Yes, it's like pissing in the wind........

If you get her that bag then you better be getting blowjobs every night till the next aniversary.

It won't stop with just the purse. The female afflicted LVD is as bad as BRD. Next up is the wallet, makeup bag, then the checkbook cover, and on, and on. Consider yourself FOREWARNED

My woman has an addiction like that. So far I have bought her:

3 Kate Spade purses
1 Coach
1 Prada
1 Fendi
1 Dooney&burke
and a damn Louis vuitton

She likes purses like I do firearms. And she is worth every penny of that.

Boy I'm glad I don't have a HIGH MAINTENANCE woman. I get her a card and a dozen roses or a nice night out to dinner and she's totally happy.
