We never get to sit near the ambulance with a blanket around our shoulders. while the Captain pulls up with our wife. We don't get to toss our badge to the Chief and say "that was the last time" and drive off code 3 in said ambulance. Hollywoods much much cooler.

I learned from watching Heat that cops can't hit jack shit despite the bad guys standing out in the open, but he bad guys shoot and kill every cop they see.
