Is it bad the first thing I thought of was Ricky Bobby when the driver was freaking out? I can't even imagine how much that would suck, I puss out from brass burns.

Those fire suits offer SECONDS of fire resistance. Not minutes and they are certainly not fire proof. If the driver is unconscious and on-fire, he will most likely die before CFR personnel can ever get there. Racing are dangerous.

If you watch further into the video you see that several cars moved out of the way at the last second. Unfortunately, one of those had a guy immediately behind him who had nowhere to go. ETA: Skip ahead to 1:50 for the collision that lead to the explosion. |
