Do you think that this lockout will be FINITO? Do you think we have seen the end of hockey in North America?

One of the owners just yesterday promised scabs for next year.
Personally I really don't care. I have never paid for a professional hockey game ticket. I do like the local college hockey team however.

How could it be the end of professional hockey in North America?

The Atlanta Thrashers owner has spouted off about starting next year with replacement players if there's no agreement reached.  The NHL fined him $250,000 for talking smack about it.

I care, that's who.
I don't think it's the end but I do think it's a big wake up call  for both  the players and owner that they've got some major issues  that need to be worked out.  I really hope that they do get things squared away and give us some kind of a season.  Until then I plan on watching some AHL games (Knoxville Ice Bears) and some college games(Ice Vols) so they'll be Hockey this year even if it's not NHL.  I've got to have something to watch when NASCAR/NHRA is over this winter, LOL.

I still think that you should have a "Who gives a fuck?" option.

I hope they resolve the CBL soon. I would heck of a lot rather see hockey than any of the other sports.

Ya'll got your panties in a twist already?

It's only the 2nd missed game day, you do remember the last lockout don't you?

In the last lockout the deal wasn't reached until January 11, 1995 .

Hockey is the greatest sport the world has to offer.  Those who do not like it simply do not have the skills to play it therefore they must hate to compensate.

I think it will be locked out for awhile.  LOTS of the top European players have already gone back to Europe to play for at least 1 season.

The average pro hockey player has more on-ice humility and sportmanship in his little finger than the average pro football player and pro baseball player combined.

I miss my Red Wings.

150+ playes have gone to the European leagues, but most/many have signed conditionalcontracts, the contracts are conditional on the NHL not having games, as soon as the NHL is back on they can get out of their contracts there.

It is only slightly better than soccer. However, women's soccer is better. So is women's field hockey. So is women's beach volley ball.

Here, here!  Let the truth be told!

Honestly, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a January start.  The NHLPA do not represent the players well at all.  This thing would have been done and overwith if the NHLPA didn't exist.  We'd have salary caps but who the hell cares?

The players would still be making millions and rookies could still afford $600,000 houses!

The NHLPA sucks.  And many of the players realize it.

Well, see, right there's your reason why it is NOT the 'greatest sport the world has to offer': It's got lots of them Euro-pee-un nancy-boys playing it...
