I found two of these tools at a local gun shop and the owner doesn't know what they're for. I'm stumped. I know what it MIGHT can do but I'm trying to figure out what it is, exactly. It was in a drawer with a mix-up of AR, M1A AND M1 parts but it doesn't seem to correlate to any tools that I can locate for these firearms.

Thanks,
jd1

What is it?

Another angle...

Front sight drift?

there anything on the bottom of the threaded "pusher"? wondering if just a generic pusher or it is supposed to crush fit/ stake something in

Just the bottom of the threaded post. It's weird because there were two of these in a plastic package so it doesn't seem like a generic tool, especially with the roll pin in there like it is.

Looks like some AK/SKS front sight pushers I've seen, though none had the roll pin.

Looks a bit like the tool to install the rear sight on an A2 upper.

Brownells sells something similar.

Ya got me.

I'll check it on an SKS but I'm pretty sure it's not for that.
