Does anyone know where I might be able to find a Hitler youth dagger to add to my WW2 collection? Not a Nazi here, just a history buff.

You can find those kind of WWII curios on Ebay. Be careful, most HJ daggers are fakes. Make sure it has "Blut und Ehre" inscribed on the blade. A lot of SS daggers are forgeries too. Personally, why spend the $$ on a blade when you can buy a nice handgun for a little more? If you're into German militaria, I would suggest the P-08, P-38 or the Radom.

I have two. The top one is marked J.A. Henckels Solingen Zwillingwerk Ges. Geschützt RZM M7/10 with the "Blood and Honor!" (in German) scripting. The bottom is a Gebrüder Grafrath Solingen-Widden RZM M7/30 with no scripting. Both have RZM M7 proofmark the number after the mark identifies the manufacturer. The manufacturers name and mark will be on the blade as well.

A friend of mine bought a Hitler youth dagger and when he took it out of the sheath it was marked Made in China LMAO. I asked him if he had ever heard of the Chinese supplying daggers to the Germans.

Just curious... why would you want that shit anyway... let us not forget that they were the enemy, no? I mean, why isn't everybody fascinated with Russian Militaria??? I don't get it. What is this morbid obsession with Nazi, fascist shit? Didn't those guys ban firearms too? Do some of you guys have a schumer collection, you know, schumertaria? I can understand wanting stuff like those bad ass storm trooper helmets and the like, but some of the other stuff just strikes me as odd. And by the way, I'm a HUGE military history buff and am very interested in that period. I'm noit flaming, just curious... I know that Nazi stuff is very popular.

I have two historical blades. One is a Spanish bayonet from the Spanish American War. It was a war trophy for a relative of mine and the other is my Grandpa's Ka-Bar from WW2. It has a different handle that normal Ka-Bars because he broke it on a German helmet, and it was repaired back in the states by someone that worked in the hospital he was sent to after being frozen in the Battle of the Bulge. It may not be worth anything to a collector but it is priceless to me.

If things don't change politically, then yes, I will have a "Schumerteria Collection". It's sitting in my gun case right now. Most Russian military equipment, the stuff I've seen anyway, isn't very well made. And we were never in a full-blown war with the USSR, if that has anything to do with it.

That very well may be true. This is what I was told by a fairly reputable dealer tho' and I trust his judgement. It might be that those bearing the inscription have a better chance of being authenic. I don't know. I humbly defer to the experts. What is your info on why some do and some don't? Was there a period when they dropped it (like later in the war?) Curious minds want to know.
