Yes, they should stop using goats. I think the training would be much more realistic if the training were done on actual people. So I say we abandon goats and bring the military lots of PETA members to take their place.

Hey, that's not such a bad idea. If these animal lovers are so committed to their cause, lets see them make a real sacrifice on the animal's behalf! I say we issue them the challange and see just how committed they really are.

Should Army medics practice on goats?? No! they should practice on goat herders from some specific middle east countries!

Just looked at the poll, that clearly is disturbing.

Apparently there are a lot of goat lovers out there.

The doctors where I work used to train on goats. They had a room in the basement of a building here that they kept them in. I haven't seen any around here in several years though.

Hey instead of goats , they could practice on inmates!!!
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 11:53:30 AM EST
I noticed this one the other day while I was voting on another poll. I said yes (allow it).
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 11:54:26 AM EST
just don't practice on goatse
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 12:01:52 PM EST
Do people honestly still believe this?

Why not? I heard farm boys parctice on sheep, and when I was in Non-Lawyer Legal School at Newport, RI there was this case about a Marine and a chicken. as a subject for a lesson.

YES! Shoot the goat and try to save its life. That's good training. How else are you going to get that calibre of experience during training?

Link Posted: 9/9/2004 3:11:21 PM EST
I have only seen them use pigs.
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 3:12:05 PM EST
51% said no? WTF is wrong with people?

To bad they can't practice on those dumb fucks.

Whoa, whoa whoa here.

Don't be so quick.

This might be a way for us to quickly empty out our collective death-rows.

In my training, I've practiced on goats and pigs......

Seems there are alot of non-goats in Git-mo to practice on......

This is another example of a poor polling sample. It should be limited to soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who will be treated by medics. Otherwise, the polling results will be skewed by those who will never have to deal with a medic.

The poll also may have some goat favoritism skewing the results. Thus, the poll should have included several types of animals (other than sheep which is always a prejudicial favorite for some reason).

I am active duty USAF and I say HELL YES!!! Get practice on whatever it takes to become proficient. Goats, dogs, PETA idiots, any other tree huggers out there, etc…

I am stationed at Peterson AFB which is about 10 miles from Ft Carson. When the story broke this morning, they had the local tree huggers on TV pissing and moaning about the poor goats.

Screw the goats (of course, not literally!). The damn things are headed to a dinner table near you anyway. Might as well get some use out of them. They are under heavy anesthesia when the wounds are inflicted, so they don’t feel anything anyway.

Yes. I would rather sacrifice a goat to training then live men in action.

No hurting an animal for any reason is wrong-54% ASSHATS.....

Went to DU to observe the enemy on his own turf. There is a cocksucker there named "benchly'who would make an excellent test subject for wound trauma training.

38% for us 51% for them

Remember, these "people" are of the same ilk as that fuckstick who wrote a letter to the PLO to please consider using something other than donkeys to make the bombs they send into crowds of unarmed isrealies.

When asked to clarify, he was careful to insist that he was not asking them to stop bombing, since that wasn't his business to ask, just that they stop hurting the donkeys.

Fuck the humane society and fuck the goats. The experience is invaluable for the medics.

They should practice on prisoners that have committed crimes against women and children.
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 4:32:16 PM EST
still losing. Keep the goat lab!
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 4:34:17 PM EST
maybe the should get one of those "operation" trainers they sell at KMart
Link Posted: 9/9/2004 4:36:52 PM EST
Being an ex Army medic I can tell you that the goat lab is one of the best trauma courses the Army offers for medics. Invaluable would be an appropriate term.
