Owning an AR is not a requirement (we have alot of members who don't), it's just a place where we get together and have a good time.

What kind of handgun?

Browning Buckmark .22    nice target gun.   pretty accurate.

i shoot his s&w .357 mag and AR-15 and his new Springfield GI .45 1911    i still like my buckmark the best.   then again, i weigh about 100 lbs

The Brownings are very nice guns! However, the longer you hang around here, you'll start to want all kinds of goodies, AR's, 1911's, etc... You will fall victim to the evil black addiction.

Seriously though, this site is a great reference! There are members here from all different walks of life, with all different levels of experience and they are more than willing to help out.

i was just saying yesterday after leaving the NRA range that i have the "itch" already, i want a new gun.

Im looking at the Glock 19, maybe even for concealed carry.   i have been reading about the glocks in the other sections and it seems like they are pretty durable, and people seem to like them.

A quote most men around here live by is: "It's not the size, it's how you use it!"

I know a few ladies who do rather well with their .45s  One who is a Master Class shooter is 4'11" and 90 pounds soaking wet with her pockets full of rocks.  All it takes is proper teaching and LOTS of practice.

Welcome aboard.

Glocks are good guns. I carry a model 31 on duty. However, like everything else, Glock has it's supporters and opponents. If you have an oppurtunity, shoot one and see how you like it. Don't buy it/not buy it, because "Fred" says it's a good gun/not a good gun. Base it on your own opinion/experience.

This is true.  I weigh 108 pounds soakin wet and can handle a .44 magnum Ruger revolver.  Sure it hurts my hand after a few rounds, but it's worth it.

And welcome to the boards!!!

Welcome aboard Lamb Chop. I too own a Buckmark and I too love to shoot it. it is a dandy little pistol and an excellent training gun for future use of a 1911.
