Ok 40+ years only on this one. If you could send a message back to your self when you were 19 what would it be? Message limit: 3 Sentences only.

Go to Seattle and find that punk-azzed kid, Bill Gates, and become his 'very, very best friend for all times!' Oh, yeah, and go in 50-50 with that slick Dallas computer salesman, H. Ross Perot, when he left IBM! Use the money to buy up every AR15 in Texas! Eric The(IfOnly!)Hun[>]:)]

If you love someone, let them know it while they are alive. Control your emotional impulse spending and save for things you want. Quit doing things that don't improve your life. In my case this would have included drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Jim

At 19 I don't even have a penny to spend...so, forget about investing in stock. Should I become a consultant and give people advises?....Nah! they think that I am just a dumb kid. The beauty of being 19 is being 19...enjoy life as a 19 see it. Wealth is nothing if you don't have the health and someone to spend it with.

1) If you love someone, tell them and show them - everyday. Don't take things for granted. 2) Be willing to take risks whether it is in a relationship or career or whatever, so that when you are an old fart, you don't have regrets about what might have been. 3) It is NOT all about the money.

Hmm thats funny I use to work under a gunsmith named Paul who was in the Navy and worked as a welder on Nuke boats.. Hmmm
Link Posted: 7/9/2002 6:57:17 AM EDT
Good post Paul, got a chuckle out of the last one... I've had a life like few have. Military at 17 (1965), out at 20. Was a rolling stone, outlaw M/C, lived in the west indies a while. Broken marriages, lots of pain (self-inflicted). Bottom line? I wouldn't change much, I am who I am because of it, and thank G*d every day for that, 'cause He was there all along keeping me alive....
Link Posted: 7/9/2002 7:05:51 AM EDT
I'll be 40 in August so I'll ask for a waver and sneek in 3 weeks early I was a 19, in the military and knew everything. I would tell myself: 1.) That "intuitive feeling" in your gut is really God. 2.) Stay focused - All the little distractions will pass. 3.) Slow down - Please God, then yourself - everything else will fall in line much easier this way. I must admit, I still struggle with all of these.[;)]

Other than knowing where to put my money I really don't have any regrets. I would have liked to finish college, But as I look back at it... it probably would have put me in a possition where I had to work for some one for a life time.Instead it put my ass into overdrive to find something that paid well and that I could call my own. I have learned several lessons the hard way though that I wish I could have figured out at a faster rate. Stay away from drugs. Only you have your best interest at heart. Other than the few people that love you everybody will expliot you for their own needs. Never stay at a job long after you have mastered it. If you really want something... get it.

Having Good Health and a good family is priceless... Believe me Eric, when I took my son to the emergency room and saw him lying there crying in pain, I pray the Lord to get him well.... and wealth was not on my prayer. Take a visit to a local Hospital, you will know what I mean. As for someone to spend it with, I am thinking more of a family than womenz.....I don't need money to beat them off me. At 19, I had all the womenz I needed.

AR_Rifle, the old Hun was pulling your young leg, Son. That's another habit of Old Farts! I guess you're too young to know that![:D] Yes, as one who has buried four grandparents, two parents, and an aunt and uncle, all of whom I loved dearly, I know precisely what it feels like to stand in the corridor of an Emergency Room, when a rather glum looking physician comes walking down the hall towards you! All the money in the world will not help you then, only you're relationship with the Creator can bring you safely through such times. I was actually in the ICU, cradling my Mother in my arms when she passed away. Reading to her, from memory, of her favorite Bible verses, I felt like I was handing her off to the Almighty when she died. And I was. Now, who's pulling whose leg?[:D] 'All the womenz' you needed? Son, there is no such thing! Well, at 19, I might have thought so, too, but when you get older, say 20, you will need all the help you can get and jack will get you jill quicker than anything! Remember the Old Hun's Motto: 'Some is good, More is better, and Too Much is just right!' I saw that on a t-shirt worn by a very lovely and pulchritudinous young lady in 1973, and I haven't forgotten it since! You may apply it to anything good in your life! Eric The(OldFartsRule!)Hun[>]:)]

1) You are at your Peak at this moment, use it now, cause it's downhill from here. 2) There will be a disease out in a few years that will kill you for having sex, so have all of it now, then get married to a virgin, stupid, mute, woman, who thinks 12" is whatever you tell her. 3)Find that thing in life you truly love, and pursue it with a vengeance, and persistance, as though your life depended on it. Trust me on that one!

Thanks for the warning. In the South, among Old Farts, that is a term of endearment, but maybe you didn't know that! I'm sorry for using a term of endearment on you! But wait! Your sig-line shows Virginia, the Old Dominion, as your residence! You from Virginny and don't know what 'Son' means? I smell a Yankee transplant![:D] Eric The(Suh,ThusMeansWar!)Hun[>]:)]

I was 19 back in 1966. If I could go back and give myself advice: 1. Tell that stupid Army recruiter from Lakeland Florida to fuck off. 2. Go get close to Vivian. (She was a skinny bitch in 1966 with a crush on me, by 1970 she was one of the most beautiful women in the county and wouldn't give me the time of day) 3. Go find that shit ass kid from Arkansas by the name of Bill Clinton and beat his sorry ass.

1.Go with that new major in computers. You can do the math and playing with those punch cards cant be that goofy. There are easier ways to starve to death than working in radio or TV. 2. Spend a few more hours in the books. The Pub and .25 cent beer will still be there after the test. 3. Go ahead and walk on and see if you can make the team. That way you wont spend the rest of your life saying "what if" or "if I had only tried."
