silencers are nfa, if you live in a nfa friendly state, and can get a leo sign off, silencers are legal, have been, but the atf still controls them and the 200 tax. I see the ad as saying any ol bumbpkin could walk into dollar general and pick up a silencer, its a scare tactic,or they are confrused themselves as to what law they want, They dont know....

The AWB has nothing to do with silencers, so you will still have to follow NFA guidelines to get one.

This is sorta true.
You could not put a silencer on a new weapon between 94 and tonight because it ALSO hid flash. Now those of us in NFA states can put them on any firearm we want after paying the 200 dollar tax. |

It's not about what's real and what's not real, it's about what you can make people believe is real.
They're calling a pistol grip a "vicious feature." Any logical person knows that physical charictaristics of a weapon have no effect on the lethality of the round. But, then again, we're not dealing with logical people. It's all about getting people to fear what you have a personal issue with. Don't like someting...stretch the truth, lie if you have to. As long as the end justifies the means in your own mind, it doesn't matter how you got there.

I challenge the news media to go into gun stores Monday, and say, "I want to buy a machine gun with a silencer." And see them walk out with one after payment and a NICS check.
ABC, CBS, FOX, CNN, NBC, all of you, please show us. And make sure it is a REAL machine gun, take it to the range, and fire the same firearm in full auto. Unscrew the silencer and show us the differnce in sound level, with your camera on a db meter. Show us, we're waiting. |
