Ooops....

Predator crashes near Balad Air Base

By Michael Hoffman - Staff writer
Posted : Wednesday Jun 4, 2008 6:15:06 EDT

An MQ-1 Predator crashed about a mile away from Balad Air Base, Iraq, shortly after takeoff June 2 because of what appears to be “mechanical failures,” Air Force spokeswoman Capt. Paula Kurtz said.

Twelve Predators have crashed in Iraq and Afghanistan since January 2007, she said.

An Air Force accident investigation board soon will determine the official cause of the crash.

You need to listen to some  of Dos Gringos' They Shot Down a Predator

Darkstar's in OEF, not OIF.

Shit happens.
Anything flying has the possibility of crashing.

As far as I know, Preds have a slightly better record than their smaller cousins flown by the 2 ground services.  Of course, they aren't flying as much as the Shadows, Dragoneye, Ravens, etc.
