Conservative black leads House´s only avowed lesbian By Audrey Hudson THE WASHINGTON TIMES MADISON, Wis. -- A conservative black preacher is the front-runner here in the heart of liberalism to challenge the country´s only openly lesbian congresswoman in the fall election. The political contest is expected to pit Republican Ron Greer against incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin -- and it´s personal. Mr. Greer, also a former firefighter, was fired after 18 years for questioning the hiring of a new chief -- a lesbian he said was not as qualified as white males in the city department. Mr. Greer said he was labeled quickly as anti-homosexual and Miss Baldwin, then a state legislator, wrote an open letter to the media demanding that he be fired. "We have a history," Mr. Greer said. "I was very public about saying it was wrong and it became a hate crime," Mr. Greer said of the hiring. Mr. Greer said his criticism resulted in numerous death threats, and a service at the Trinity Evangelical Church was invaded by more than 400 homosexual-rights activists "shouting, swearing, screaming, 'Bring back the lions and St. Peter was gay´. They threw rocks at the window and urinated on the floor," Mr. Greer said. Those events prompted Mr. Greer to enter the 1998 Republican primary, and he came in second in a field of five candidates. Miss Baldwin was first elected in 1996, and had close contests since: 53 percent to 47 percent over Republican Josephine Musserin 1998, and 51 percent to 49 percent over Republican John Sharpless in 2000. Many Wisconsin Republicans now say Mr. Greer is their best weapon to oust Miss Baldwin, but he first must defeat a white businessman, Phil Alfonsi, in Tuesday´s primary. Mr. Alfonsi looks and speaks like a congressman, Republicans say, but a renegade like Mr. Greer, who has wide name recognition and a support base, is their best chance to defeat Miss Baldwin. Mr. Alfonsi, who began campaigning in January, four months before Mr. Greer entered the race, disagreed. "He does have name recognition and a base from the well-known fireman flap. It´s a loyal base, but it´s small," Mr. Alfonsi said. "He is well-known, but the problem is what he is well-known for," Mr. Alfonsi said. "Ron is controversial and unnecessarily confrontational. What´s needed is someone who represents the majority of voters, and I think I´m that person." The two Republican candidates have maintained a cordial campaign, addressing one another politely at numerous forums and debates and focusing their criticisms on Miss Baldwin. "Ron and I are both Christians. We do not have any hostility towards one another," Mr. Alfonsi said after a recent forum. Miss Baldwin has refrained from discussing either candidate until after the primary, focusing instead on her pet issues of health care and economic revitalization of the area. "I´m sure that after September 10, they will engage in debate. Until then, I don´t think she is going to comment on what they say," said Karin Johanson, Miss Baldwin´s campaign manager. Both men say the differences between their politics and Miss Baldwin are stark. Mr. Alfonsi is a fiscal conservative; Mr. Greer is a social conservative who also rejects heavy public spending. "It´s not a solution. It´s insulting and irritating, done by guilty phony white liberals, and Tammy does it constantly," Mr. Greer said. "It´s puzzling to see black folks vote for and support these folks, and disturbing to see black leaders pimping these folks to follow the failed policies of a failed party." Mr. Greer is direct in his views, which he backs with his own personal stories of growing up in rough ghettos and his incarceration as a Marine in 1975 for striking a white officer. It was during his 18 months of hard labor in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., that the 19-year-old Mr. Greer turned to God. He continues to work for the Prison Fellowship Ministries and has been endorsed by its chairman, Chuck Colson, who has served seven months in prison for a conviction relating to the Watergate scandal. Mr. Greer says that Republicans on Capitol Hill should not be shying away from their conservative agenda. Mr. Alfonsi is focusing on the economy, national defense and Miss Baldwin. "She represents the far left but portrays herself as a middle-of-the road moderate, and nothing could be farther from the truth," Mr. Alfonsi said. The city of Madison, a college town considered the Berkeley of the Midwest, is sharply divided with the surrounding conservative counties in the sprawling 2nd Congressional District. "Tammy Baldwin is very much about symbolism over substance, much like the city she springs forth from: five miles of liberalism surrounded on all sides by reality," said Chris Lato, spokesman for the Wisconsin Republican Party. Miss Baldwin clearly is winning the fund-raising battle. She reported Aug. 21 that her campaign had raised more than $900,000 with $470,000 cash on hand. Mr. Alfonsi has raised $50,000 with just over $500 on hand. Mr. Greer did not file for the latest period, but his July report, one month into the race, showed $20,000 had been raised but he was $500 in the red. The problem with this area of Wi. is that it allows college kids (who are not tax payers and not residents of Wi for any purpose other than going to school)-to vote... Ron Greer used to have his church services disrupted by screaming homosexuals..his family routinely threatend..he was harrased out of the fire dept by a lesbian fire chief... basically Madison Wi. is the [s]San Francisco[/s] [s]Berkely[/s] Sodom & Gommorah of the midwest...and headquarters of many leftist orgs...the american communitst party...many homosexual groups.....green parties of every persuasion...abortionists...pro choice ..femanazi groups..anti gun anti hunting anti fishing anti camping anti land use anti private property ownership..anti military..and the land of BIG Govt..... Greer got in trouble because he passed out bible tracts at the firehouse where he worked that were not complimentary to homosexual lifestyles and choices...biblical based admonishments...he was ordered to stop...he claimed first ammendment rights and kept on passing out bible tracts and was consequently fired.. Tammy Baldwin...the House of Reps only open lesbian...made it her business to go after Mr Greer... Hey Tammy.....he's baaaaaaaaccccck Her support base is among the college crowd and wealthy liberals from out of state

Tammy Baldwin is a lesbian? Dude. That is HOT!

Uh-duh? But if Greer wants to do well with the students in Madisin, I've got a one word piece of advice for him: Piercings

Don't even get me started ETH!!!! LOL. Once upon a time, there was a railroad that had a nice business train. They thought they could generate a little extra revenue by using it to run nostalgic passenger trains between Downtown Madison and Mazomanie, home of the infamous nude gay beach, for dinners and events such as UW football games. After a year, it was obvious the extra train was losing money badly. In spite of the fact that he enjoyed operating the train, the President of the company decided it had to be discontinued. The ever present whining socialist minority, all the local politicians, and the local media immediately berated and slammed the struggling railroad for it's decision. Never mind that it is the railroads equipment, the railroad has a long term lease for the track, and the railroad is a privately owned business enterprise. Since a few people apparently thought it was a gift or entitlement, it was immediately assumed that it had to run anyway! After all, the vocal minority wanted it! The politicians and media immediately championed far and wide the approximately 20 or so voices that objected to the discontinuance of service. The rights of a business and property owner, operating his own business, never even entered the equation. The president of the railroad stood firm, despite being mercilessly bashed in true new age left wing style by all the local pols and media. Finally, a wealthy developer and the nearby suburb town of Middleton came to the rescue! They leased the equipment, hired a veteran railroad management employee to clean the cars, put a local activist and head of a nominal "tourism commitee" in charge, and Madison had it's train again! 6 months later, the train is again gone! and the numbers are plastered all over the media.....losses to the City of over $250,000 in 6 months and not improving. In fact, rumors abound that number may grow to almost $500,000. Politicians are in full CYA mode and swear up and down that the taxpayers are not going to foot the bill. All because of 20 or so people that thought a small company, trying to make money and run business, though this private enterprise owed them something. Meanwhile, the City of Madison has 3 bad car/train collisions in 2 months after passing a train whistle ban, championed by the local politicians and media. Number of people who complained regularly: roughly FIVE to TEN. At least they can sleep quietly at night now....never mind that they lived with trains for years, in fact, the railroad was there in the early 1900's! But the danger to the public is increased tremendously. And don't forget the small group of "activists", allied with a local greedy ass developer in cahoots with the pols, that are forcing the railroad into relocating a main track and giving up 40 car lengths of yard space next to a large coal fired power plant.....to build a two block park and condos....because they dont like the small industrial area. Never mind what it does to servicing the power plant...that just happens to supply power to the whole city. And the local media still got one last bash in on president and owner...at the end of the story about the big money lost by the City of Middleton. After all, if he hadn't quit running the train, none of the budget losses would have happened! The whole city reeks of napalm nazi tactics. It truly is, the Berkeley of the midwest. And the head of it all, Madison Mayor Kathleen Falk, along with hard core left wing legal beagle James "WI cops don't want concealed carry" Doyle want to be your Democratic Governor of Wisconsin! Fuck those assholes!

But she isn't hot. And she is rabidly anti-gun. Other lesbo politicians: Sen. Barbra Mikulski and Sen. Hilary Clinton. I bet that if turnout is high outside of Madison she will lose. GunLvr

9divdoc, Amen, I'm with ya there...... I believe that college-aged kids spawned whole culture in order to create the feeling of self-importance and trend. It was so bad for these kids to have to spend their heyday in boring old Madison, Wisconsin and not the hip, alter-reality of MTV’s west coast. The little fucking hippies created their own miss-led campaigns in order to satisfy the modes of personal expression in young adults that the media has made popular. In my mind the emotion of jealousy set the ball in motion of the culture you see now in order to eat-up these college kids misguided ambitions. The only real need for the activism was so they could see each other and themselves involved in it. After some time, everyone becomes brainwashed as the need to fall into the pre-determined status quo becomes the main influencing factor.
