What are you sick of hearing?
First word: "tactical" |
|
I'm tired of people telling me what a major malfunction and a failure I am.
OTOH, I think if I pull my 'charging handle', my problems will clear right up. [:D] (don't know what the relevance of the above post is...) |

Sick of hearing? I'll tell you what I am sick of hearing. Tackdriver. If it can hit the broad side of a barn from inside, it is a tackdriver.

If I see another fool post "for the children" I'll scream.
Think of something original for cripes sake, that phrase isn't funny anymore. |

[:D] (don't know what the relevance of the above post is...) View Quote It's for a gag, actually. Think of all of the overused words and phrases you hear at gun shops, in gun rags, at gun shows, descriptive labels for this-or-that firearm... Mike |

"Ballistic." My son asked me to explain the difference between "nylon" and "ballistic nylon." "Apparently about $8 a yard," I answered.

*another vote for "clip" (an all time classic)
-followed by "muscle memory" (not to be confusd with "ergonomic") -and trailing with "real gun" (as in, "Why don't you sell that plastic piece of shit and get yourself a real gun?") |
|
"Prolly".."ah still yet am goin to do thet."..."One of these here ones."...."..its got a bayonett lug and a folding stock so it MUST be pre-ban."...".all hesse's are pre-ban"...."Mak-90's are pre-ban"...."..thet thars a machinegun...you know that they arer illegal,...right?".."....heeeey brother man ..I want's to by one dem silencers...you know..so I can pop me a cap in some mutherfuckeh an duh kops din wone no shit."...."Hoooow much fo one dem machineguns?".."Der be papeuh on dem?"..."if I want to have a 10" bbl.on my AR,fuck the government....they don't tell ME what to do......no-one tells me what to do."....."Leavanworth Fed.Pen.,isn't so bad.....I got my teeth fixed and a GED while I was in."....."...I thought that I could have a drop in autosear,SGN said it was legal."

Minute of anything:
Minute of angle Minute of bad guy Minute of blue helmet |
|
I will put my vote in for my pet peaves:
tactical: it seem if something is black and made of nylon these days, it's considered tactical clip: this is something girls use in their hair, not what I insert in my ARs. |
|
What gun did Pacino use in the movie HEAT?
seriously...what gun did he use? [lol] |
|
clip, mousegun, "only a .22", .308
9mm (so sick of that caliber...ooo look at me, i'm almost a centimeter..ooo i'm cheaper than everyone else...ooo i'm the only one you can buy at wal-mart without being 21 oooo ooo SHUT THE FUCK UP LUGER!!!!!) |
|
well when I was a SEAL....
(or insert your favorite special forces group here) --and hearing it from a guy that couldn't run more than 20' before he's winded! |
|
A "good shooter" when a table holder is hawking his junk at a gunshow.
The last time I looked at a "good shooter"... a Colt double eagle, I noted the firing pin was missing and asked, how could it be a good shooter with no firing pin? (Followed by a red face and a blank stare) "Unfired" is my second pick as quite overused. Now an "unfired" "good shooter" would be even more suspicious, I think. |

Tack-Driver

I can't believe no one has said it yet
Milspec Also, precision, lightweight, heavy-duty, long-range, and custom (if anyone can buy it, it's not custom). |

Quoted: What are you sick of hearing? View Quote Stuff like "I'd recommend one because I've owned one for years and fired over 2500 rounds without a problem." Big fuckin' deal! That's like TEN practice sessions. 2500 rounds is not a lot. |

I agree with Lockedon, "mousegun" has got to be the dumbest fucking term used for an AR in exsistance.

Most misused word?
"Tolerances"! As in "this gun is reliable in sand because it's made with loose tolerances". "Tolerances" are part-to-part variation. "Fit" is what you call the amount of play between sliding components. I scream every time I read "tolerances" in gun mags & chat rooms. |
|
I'll go wth preban/postban. Hopefully soon it will be moot.

Kali. Kalifornistan. Commiefornistan. PRK. Peoples Republik. Any others of the same ilk that don't kome to mind at the moment...

"Designed for Navy SEALs . . ."
or "Designed by former Navy SEAL . . ." |

Quoted: Operator! View Quote That term gives me a case of the ass too. In the military that term was reserved as a very prostigous title given to special forces guys that had proven themselves on an OP. When I first started posting here a guy called himself an operator and I asked him what team he was with. He got real pissed off and flamed my newbie ass. About ten other people jumped in on me. I was new and felt bad about it because maybe I was being a jerk, but I have personal reasons for what I said. Just because you can " operate" a gun doesn't make you an operator. Having said that I never want to hear the term "stopping power" again. |

Trigger that breaks like a glass rod.
Hell a 2 inch rod will break too, just needs LOTS more effort |
|
Quoted: Trigger that breaks like a glass rod. Hell a 2 inch rod will break too, just needs LOTS more effort View Quote This phrase relates to creep and overtravel, not pull weight. It is appropriate, but overused. |

Gun is still in arsenal wrap: the last one we took out of wrap and cleaned up was so hideous, we weren't able to sell it!
