What are you sick of hearing?

First word:  "tactical"

I'm tired of people telling me what a major malfunction and a failure I am.
OTOH, I think if I pull my 'charging handle', my problems will clear right up.

Think of something original for cripes sake, that phrase isn't funny anymore.

It's for a gag, actually.  Think of all of the overused words and phrases you hear at gun shops, in gun rags, at gun shows, descriptive labels for this-or-that firearm...

A "good shooter" when a table holder is hawking his junk at a gunshow.
The last time I looked at a "good shooter"... a Colt double eagle, I noted the firing pin was missing and asked, how could it be a good shooter with no firing pin?
(Followed by a red face and a blank stare)
"Unfired" is my second pick as quite overused.
Now an "unfired" "good shooter" would be even more suspicious, I think.

Stuff like "I'd recommend one because I've owned one for years and fired over 2500 rounds  without a problem."

Most misused word?

"Tolerances"!

As in "this gun is reliable in sand because it's made with loose tolerances".

"Tolerances" are part-to-part variation.

"Fit" is what you call the amount of play between sliding components.

I scream every time I read "tolerances" in gun mags & chat rooms.

That term gives me a case of the ass too. In the military that term was reserved as a very prostigous title given to special forces guys that had proven themselves on an OP.
When I first started posting here a guy called himself an operator and I asked him what team he was with. He got real pissed off and flamed my newbie ass. About ten other people jumped in on me. I was new and felt bad about it because maybe I was being a jerk, but I have personal reasons for what I said. Just because you can " operate" a gun doesn't make you an operator.  Having said that I never want to hear the term "stopping power" again.

This phrase relates to creep and overtravel, not pull weight.  It is appropriate, but overused.
