Mrs. gearjammer 351 is a cop, and her birthday is coming up. When she mentions that she needs something in conversation, I take note of it so I know what to get her for gifts. She has recently been given a tazer to carry which takes up belt space, so she's decided to stop carrying a baton (since she never has used it anyway), and she mentioned that she now has nothing suitable for breaking glass. She says there are tools just for this purpose that she would like to have.

The criteria here:
1) tool for breaking glass with pouch suitable for a duty belt
2) Needs to be as compact as possible

She isn't that big around, so belt space needs to be economized as much as possible. Opinions on/experience with such tools would be useful; that's why I'm posting here.

Thanks

Hell, there are alot of knives that have a glass punch on them if size is a concern. Honestly any time ive needed to break a car window it wouldnt have made any difference to have had to get the device used for the breakage from my vehicle. If you look around there are quite a few reputable brands of knives that have options, i would think that may be the best option if she wants something to carry on her person being that she is much more likely to use the knife than the window punch, but it will be there if the need arises

Search for the Resqme tool, its a glass punch with a seatbelt cutter. I keep it on a keychain that attaches to the duty belt so its always on me, fairly inexpensive as well.

glass breaker and seat belt cutter too. Kinda pricey but you get the idea, there are similar options from other manufacturers

Just bought a pen that had a glass breaking  tip on the back end. It's a heavy duty pen and watched video on how easy it broke glass. Takes regular parker pen refills. Comes in several colors.

Who makes those?

That's an interesting option- especially if one of the available colors is gold (she needs gold pens, and they're a pain to find). I bought a couple off the interwebz last year, for more than I normally pay for pens, and just a couple of months later they got taken as 'evidence' and were never returned.
