8 days ago I was looking on ebay for stuff and something popped up on my screen and I might have hit the space bar.  Well,  I have lastpass (password program) on my computer with paypal set to automatically login.  (mistake)  I'm thinking me hitting the spacebar made paypal pay the amount of whatever was shown on my screen.  I think it is for some type of diamond account for playing online games?  I don't know.

Anyway,  After two failed attempts with Paypal to refund my money, they tell me sorry there is nothing we can do.  Since I have my paypal setup to withdraw directly from my bank account  I don't have the ability to go to my credit card company for help.  (I'm removing my bank account setting within Paypal) and I might just drop paypal period.

I have emailed LOL-Smurfs support to refund my money and they said:

We understand the situation but there is nothing we can do.

Your best shot was to open unauthorized dispute and you did, but PayPal decided that there wasn't any suspicious attempt.

I
am not sure where do you live / with who but I suggest you talk to your
family / friends with access to your computer and see if they bought
it, that's most likely the case.

There is nothing we can do.

Have a nice day.

WTF.  I'm going to go to my bank tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do and then probably go to the police and open up a report.

Does anyone know what LoL-Smurfs is?

Anything else I can do?

TLDR:  Fuck Paypal.

So you're going to tell the police "I accidentally bought something on the internets and now I'm unhappy?" Not sure what Bumblescum County Sherriffs Office is going to do. (OP may not actually be from Bumblescum County)

You accidentally buy shit on the internet.

You tie your Paypal account to your banking account.

You are unable to Google "LOL- Smurf" and see that you bought someone's League of Legends account.

Might be time to log off your computer until you are properly trained on how to use it.

If they take it out via PayPal, just delete PayPals ability to touch your bank account

Apparently in this case LOL stands for League of Legends. A smurf is a low level player.

Is this just an elaborate ploy to get people to google "Lol Smurfs"?

I'm not going to be the first to fall for it, if it is. Someone else can fall for that shit.

Well, I'm looking for maybe someone who knows what I accidentally? Bought.  Anyone know a phone number where I can call them?

I mean, who sells something without the option of giving someone their money back?  A scammer.

I have a separate bank account with a tiny balance and IIRC no overdraft protection tied to my paypal account. Additionally, I don't allow auto logins to PayPal or any of my other online banking accounts, for these exact reasons.

Rofl, I'm having a hard time not laughing at this. I used to play league of legends. A smurf account on league is an account that a skilled player made to have good rank and stats with a low loss to win ratio. I had no idea that Amazon or eBay carried them.

I went to e-bay and searched "Lol smurf".

How many did you buy?  Or did you buy the ultimate smurf king?

eta The most expensive one I found was $200.00.   Did you buy a horde of $2.00 smurfs?

I'd never screw someone by trying to resell, but I never received the account in the first place.  Just a charge from PayPal for 399.99.

Going to the bank tomorrow to see if they will block the money although it has been 8 days thanks to PayPal telling me to wait for their investigation.

Think I will call PayPal daily and get 400 out of them by monopolizing their staffs time.

Still not sure how the fuck it was purchased.

PSA brought to you by David0858 and this channel -

You can get free checking accounts if you look (I have one at one of the banks in a Walmart). Get one of these free accounts at a different bank than your real account, tie it to your Paypay account and only keep a few dollars in in. Do NOT have overdraft protection on this account. Have a credit card on your Paypal account and use it for all your purchases (even better if is a rewards card).

If there really is a way to buy something with one key press, stop that shit.

You did not buy that from a pop up.

Your PayPal has been hacked, you may have a keylogger installed.

I'd recommend downloading the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware and do a scan.

Also, make an identity theft or theft by deception case at your local police department and then get your bank to reverse the charges.
