This is my Hog Island Boa and his name is Spock . He is a male and 4 foot , weights 4 lbs and is super mellow and tame ! See for youself , he just shed Saturday night so I got him out to look him over. Don't believe everything you hear about snakes , they can be puppy dog tame and friendly and they like to snuggle. But he will kill you in your sleep on Christmas morning as I have trained him well .

Soon!

sure , he doesnt want to fall , but he doesn't constrict like he would on prey. he is pretty strong though , i have to use 2 hands to unwrap him from furniture sometimes and he doesnt always want to be moved.

Beautiful snake!
Just an FYI, Bob Clark is very frequently auctioning some of his really cool morphs on Facebook for reasonable (given what they are) prices.

go to this website and read up on them http://www.riobravoreptiles.com/ this guy will get about 4 to 5 feet and max at 8lbs most likley . hog islands are a type a dwarf island boa , there are several types of dwarf boa that stay small , some no larger than 3 feet ,males especially but feeding regime plays a roll in size. Make sure you know what your getting , i have seen some redtail boas some the local pet shops get 9 to 13 feet and weight 60lbs and are mean SOB's! this guy was captive bred and held alot as a baby so he is very mellow, still his teeth are long and it would not be pleasent to get bit. Really have to handle them several times before you buy , but thier nature can change plus their cage and enviromental setup is critical to how they behave and how healthy they are. Sticking them in a 55 gallon take is not the way to do , mine is in a 4'x2'x18" pvc cage thats all digitally tempature controlled. they live for for up to 25 years , and they are alot of work to care for properly . Corn snakes are goo dstarter snakes . I have other snakes also like a brazillion rainbow boa, check my past threads.

here is a very large variety

He's just smart enough to know that you're the one giving him food, and that he can't swallow you whole.

this is true , if he was 30 foot i would be a snack i have no doubt. He does know im the food giver and associated me with food , warmth and security , so always check out what im doing when he is out of his enclosure.
