Just wanted to say a big HELLO to everyone.  I've been a longtime subscriber to The Firing Line (GO S.W.A.T.!) and I just joined this site yesterday, mostly because of H.R. 1022.

I've been e-mailing every congressman in my homestate of NY to fight the proposed bill, and am encouraged and moved by the conviction & resolve of the members on this site!

To top it off, I've decided I definitely want to buy an AR-15 style rifle myself now, am excited as hell about that.  McCarthy can thank her H.R. 1022 for that!

Thanks everyone!  This would actually be the first time I'd be directly affected by a ban - my H&K .45 with threaded barrel is on the chopping block, can't believe it!  I started fighting against this before I realized, that, tho, and after reading it of course it just lit even more of a fire under me!!
