Personally, I'm inclined to think the Izzys are looking out for themselves first, and everyone else comes a distant second.

I'm intolerant about their spying on us, but also surprised at the non-mention of other "allies' that do the same.

We pay the Egyptians nearly as much as we do the Izzys to not get too frisky.

Isreal will always be a PITA to the Islamicists because of it's existence.  It would not matter if the country was controlled by Christians.  What matters is that is a piece of the planet Earth that was once under Islamic rule, and then escaped.

THAT is what irritates the IslamoFascists.  FWIW, the Islamists have made a century's long habit of converting existing Christian churches into mosques.  Doing so is a direct, fully intentional slap in the face to Christendom.  And yet we even debate constructing a MegaMosque near the Twin towers site?  Insanity, IMHO.

IMHO, we are are about in 1938 in our assessment in our real enemy.

We do not have the various protections that we had back then.  Science and technology have made the threat much closer and deadlier.  
We have fewer, less reliable allies, and the enemy controls our energy sources, and a great deal of out economy.

And most of us are watching TV.
