Accuracy? Is that a 22 case or a trimmed 17 HMR? How long is the projectile?

ETA: Just realized the stupidity of the second question.

its getting gel tested as soon as it warms up a bit (been in the 30's). Its a 30 cal jacket thats 1.25 long. Loaded into a blackout. its Hp depth is about a .25 of an inch.

Knew it was a 300 blk, was wondering about the jacket. Where'd you get it? Damned fine work, my friend.

Would be interesting to see how difficult it would be to replicate some of the tooling

I just dont have the time, between 2 jobs to make the tooling. And the mill and lathe are tied up doing gunwork.

Just the picture of that thing killed a kitten and made Feinstein shit herself.

It's beautiful.

It's beautiful...

But it probably has the BC of a piece of toast.

Looks nice but does it feed through an AR mag?
Link Posted: 1/16/2013 9:42:31 PM EDT
COOL.

Will it feed in an AR?
Link Posted: 1/16/2013 9:45:31 PM EDT
Also you suck. You've got me looking buying the Corbin 224 swage kit again.

it should. the radius is at the same spot as a 6s. the jump to chamber might be a problem. I can give it a try tonight at the shop since I dont own a BLK any more..

took it to work today and everyone so far has said. OMG wicked!

so its winning on looks so far!

How is it in the chamber?

Is the bullet narrow enough to not get shoved into the lands?
Link Posted: 1/17/2013 10:03:10 PM EDT
wow. very cool.

Dumb question, but what precisely is that? Looks like a hollow point of some type. I'm assuming it has desirable expansion qualities?

its a home built hollow point bullet thats being made to open up at subsonic speeds.

and were I have it seated it still back in the throat of the chamber and not touching the rifling. But if it gets seated long it might be an issue. If it opens up good, Ill pick up a dual diameter die so I can reduce the front portion of the bullet by about .008 or .009.

That's awesome. Too bad you can't put a driving band on it.

didn't work worth a shit. Neither did the 6s tipped one I shot too..

Jackets are just too thick for this application. Most jackets sold are for a sonic 30 cal bullets. Well project is on hold till I get my jacket making stuff.. Then Ill have my thin walled jacket..

What did it do? Fold half the tip in and push through the target?

Any way you can score/scribe the inside of the jacket to allow it to peel open?
