Just being pragmatic here.  I am a Christian.  Therefore I believe that only Christians get into heaven.  I understand a little of other religions.  What is the story if you’re a Jew, Muslim, etc.  if you believe in a heaven and not reincarnation will I get to go to heaven if you turn out to be right?      

The idea of an afterlife has been an idea of Judaism for millenia.

Though it's been an idea, it's never been a goal.  Judaisn has always concentrated upon life in this world, working in partnership with G-d to complete his works.  By that, it's understood in Judaism as Tikkun Olam, or repair of the world.  G-d gave us the ability and resources act righteously and ethically to make this a worthwhile world for all life upon it, and Judaism views this work is not yet accomplished.

That said, Traditional Judaism also believes there is no "lock" on salvation...salvation is an alien thought to Traditional Judaism:

"The righteous among the nations of the world will have a share in the World-to-Come."

The idea of going to heaven is a Christian concept. I do not concern myself with it nor does any Jew.

I must admit that when Christians spout this drivel, the thought of them being "raptured" off to a far corner of the universe seems very appealing to me.

Question on a chemistry final: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Support your answer with a proof. Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyles Law (gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:    First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So, we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that most people and their souls go to Hell. The student got the only A!

In short, we're all going to hell.
