I was looking at our bank-statement the other day.  Saw that we made a $450.00 payment to some guy on 10-5-04.  I asked my wife if she had bought something on EBAY or used Paypal for something.  She said no.

I looked in to it it was fraud.  Now Paypal had already stared their own investigation and credited the money back to our Paypal account.  So I have transfered it back into our checking account.

Paypal said that someone hacked into there system and got ahold of allot of accounts.  That shut there servers down of awhile on Sat.(10-16-04) to get things worked out.

I called the bank, Bank of America to talk to the Fraud guys.  I was told that Paypal is really a secure site, just got hacked.

Anyway I just wanted to give you all a heads up to check your  bank accounts if you use Paypal.

Thanks for the heads up. I tend not to keep money in the paypal account but sometimes when several sales come through close together there can be several hundred dollars in there.

Glad I said no to Paypal as soon as they required a checking account number in order to remain a member.
