I went to a dog show over the weekend and one of the most interesting things I saw were the agility and obediance competitions.  And I know some people do the Schutzhund, although I don't know if that's competitive.

Anyone here do this kind of stuff with your dog?

We've been wanting to give our high strung Labrador a "job" and have started him on agility.  Bought a basic training agility set.  Found out the hardest thing to get him to do was go through the fabric tunnel, but once he did it a few times he loved it.  So much that if we have it set up he'll just run back and forth in it instead of jumping or anything else.  But hey, we're doing it so he'll have fun, I seriously doubt we'll ever compete with him.

we have a local 'horse and hound festival' (really a wine festival where you can bring your dog) that has different exhibits and one was the agility course.. Afterward you can have your dog try it, our dog (goldendoodle) really loved it and caught on quickly.

You just need to make sure the twists and turns wont any joints though..

You can buy a 'starter' agility kit on amazon.com -

There are people in the pets section of the board who do well in it. I would like to try it with my neapolitan some day.
