I've heard that the elections next week are supposed to be a "referendum" on the war in Iraq.  There is much interest in the individual state elections to Congress and the Senate.  Why would or should the residents of say Iowa be so interested in the races in Virginia and Maryland?  Why should I care so much about the stem cell ads in Missouri, since Michael J Fox also made them for a race closer to home in Maryland, but I still can't vote on.  By no means do I want to see Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, but I can't vote against her in any election, no matter how much I'd like to see her escorted to the door.
