I saw in shot gun news recently that SOG was selling a "colt stlye" AR-15 for $545. It seams too good to be true. Has anyone seen these? Are they awful, or are they decent? [rail]

Read the fine print. They are built on CAI lowers. The ballance is used surplus GI parts. The lower is probably a OLY. I had an A1 from Century. It functioned, but had a bent barrel. The sights had to be adjusted all the way left to hit close to zero. I traded a mini-14 for it & later sold the rifle for about $500 I think. You gets what you pay for. I got a shit load of junk. Saw one at a gunshow in Ft. Walton Beach in the winter. Looked like crap. Rough, would be kind. It appeared to have a spray paint finish, the furniture was nasty, really beat up. I wouldn't hit a pig it the butt with one.
