I jsut saw a story on a Danish newspaper-website that apparently PBS made this documentary - which (in part or in whole, not sure which one) focuses on mulims in the west, especially Denmark. Following the whole cartoon debacle, there are a number fo interviews with various muslim leaders - from moderates to very extreme (including a guy who was in Gitmo, as well as a guy who was recently convicted of plotting terror attacks). The documentary apparently also focuses a lot on a Danish muslim member of parliament - Nasser Khader - who is a very strong critic of extemist muslims, and a chamption of democracy (which of course has earned him many death threats, and requires bodyguards).
It sounds like an absolutely fascinating program - both illustrating how there are moderate muslims who can function in a modern western democratic system, but also revealing just how extreme and anti-democratic the Islamists that are quietly living among us really are.
Apparently, PBS is either considering, or has decided, to not air the program. I guess because they worry it would be inflamatory, or whatever.
Anyone else heard about this PBS documentary?
