My wrist is giving me some trouble typing here so long story short:

I'm not new to motorcycles, but new to HD. I just bought a new to me 1990 Sportster 1200, it's kind of a rat-rod and needs a bit of TLC but runs AWESOME. Can someone point me in the right direction to the large array of quality aftermarket I always hear about- Specifically for now I'm looking at deleting the instrument cluster and ugly headlight visor mount and I'm looking for ideas for alternative speedo locations/mounts and brackets as well as headlight mount options.

Then I'll adress that chopped rear fender.... :)

Love the bike though, it pulls hard and sounds fantastic. I want to keep the dirtbag rat rod look.

For the gauge cluster, don't forget about Dakota Digital. You can usually find good prices for them on eBay.

Unfortunately all sportsters 93 and older have a cable driven speedo which makes speedo relocation a bit harder.  There's an autometer bracket that you can buy to mount it off of the tank bolt which works pretty well.  You could in theory use any bracket made for a later model, just keep in mind you'll need to get a custom length speedo cable if you keep the cable driven speedo.

To get rid of the eyebrow you have 2 options.  Hack it down so it's just a top mount, or get rid of it all together and either bottom mount the light by drilling a hole in the lower tree/use a bracket that you bolt where the eyebrow goes which allows you to bottom mount, or go with a side mount and brackets

I'll also be the first one to counter the whole J&P, Dennis Kirk, ect post.  They're typically more expensive than other vendors

also check out BKrider.com for some cheaper priced parts that are as good a-quality as any other.  If you go with their house brand you're getting it right from the distributor so their prices are a lot better. I got a set of fork tube assemblies with easy fill caps, springs, dampeners, tubes, and fork seal kit for cheaper than I could buy tubes alone from ebay and from the big name vendors.
