Take two whacks at anything with that machete. It'll have divots in the sorry excuse for steel they use.

That generator puts out about 1/2 to 2/3 of its advertised power.

True on the machete. Cheap steel but I ground the edge down and hacked up a few trees with it.. held a decent edge but you can't bitch for that price.

Is the handle plastic? I bought one from cheaperthandirt a while back and the handle broke while cutting open a young coconut.

It's plastic base with a rubber grip.

Buy two so you can make a crossed Machete display.

Buy a cheap grinder too, these are duller than obama's brain.

They aren't intended for actual work/use.  If that is your plan, you need to buy a quality tool.

An Imacasa is nine dollars.

For the price of your three Chinese pure-shit machettes, you could have had a single good, tier 1 machette.

Harbor Freight is good for some things.  Machettes and internal combustion machinery aren't among them.

For under $10 you can get a LOT better here.

The Tramontinas are cheap, and their steel seems to be excellent.  Nothin fancy, just gets the job done.  I've heard a lot of people rave over the Imacasa tools too, they're a *bit* pricier, but still very cheap for what they are.

Cheap, poor quality machetes piss me off.  I've had plenty.

I feel like a lot of people are making statements based off of assumptions and not actual use. Just because it's an apparent chinese POS does not mean it won't work or do it's job for an extended period of time, while being extremely cheap.

I wouldn't run any electronics I value on a $90 generator

I got thirteen stitches out of my Tramontina.  Anything made in China would've just bounced off.

No self respecting Central American would be caught dead carrying that POS.

Years ago I got a couple of USGI surplus Ames machetes from the VN war.  They are MUCH superior to the cheapies that are totally dull and stubbed over after a short weed whacking session.
